Sony unveiled its next-gen controller for PlayStation 5 earlier this year. And since then, we heard little to none regarding what’s happening next for PlayStation 5 until earlier this week, where Epic Games revealed brand-new footage of Unreal Engine 5 tech demo running on a PlayStation 5 system. The demo was, no doubt, looked absolutely stunning, but we have to admit, for that kind of graphics, we’ll have to wait at least 2-3 years from now. As for the PlayStation 5 console reveal event, many hints point towards early-June.
PlayStation 5 Reveal Event Happening On June 4th?
According to Jeff Grubb of VentureBeat, the next big PlayStation 5 event from Sony where they’ll reveal the console itself will be held on June 4, 2020. It’s probably true since June is a really hot month for video games and next-gen. “It’s hard to nail down details because things are still in flux. But June 4 is a hefty next-gen showcase. August should be like previous States of Play (but now with PS5 games!),” Grubb said in his tweet.
That’s not the first time we heard an early-June rumor from an industry insider. Jason Schreier of Bloomberg News, also commented on this saying, “We’re in an atmosphere right now with COVID where nothing is definitive until two days before, and I think that both Sony and Microsoft are just been changing their plans constantly. But as of right now, as far as I know, Sony is still on track to do at least one thing by early-June or by mid-June.”
Apart from that, Sony also revealed 18 minutes of new gameplay of Sucker Punch’s Ghost of Tsushima, coming to PS4 later this year in July. Are you excited about what’s to come regarding PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X? Let us know in the comments!
