Earlier this month, VentureBeat’s Jeff Grubb reported that Microsoft is planning to officially reveal their second, cheaper, next-gen console, Xbox Series S, codenamed Project Lockhart, in August 2020. A new report just came in that also suggests that the reveal for Series S is indeed settled for August later this year.

Xbox Series S Getting Revealed in August?

According to Eurogamer’s Tom Phillips, Microsoft will unveil the Lockhart or Xbox Series S in August 2020 after the original reveal on June 9, 2020, was pushed back.

“Earlier in the month, VentureBeat’s Jeff Grubb reported Microsoft was now saving a big June announcement for August (which is when Eurogamer also understands Xbox Series S will finally be revealed). This prompted a carefully-worded response from Greenberg stating the company had “not pushed anything back”, and that its next big digital show was still July.”

Apart from that, Tom Warren from The Verge also tweeted out some interesting details about the Series S saying that the console will have the same CPU speed as the Series X. And that the only difference will be in the GPU and CU numbers.

Furthermore, Microsoft has also registered a new trademark that strongly suggests a second next-gen console along with the Series X. Microsoft will be revealing their first-party game later in July 202. Are you excited about the Xbox Series X? Let us know in the comments!

Xbox Series X will be out holiday 2020.
