Back in January 2021, Bungie introduced Seasonal Challenges in Destiny 2 with the release of Season of the Chosen. According to the blog post, players would earn a total of 10,000 Bright Dust (6,000 from Seasonal Challenges) which was fine in Destiny 2 Season of the Chosen. However, it looks like it’s not the case in Season of the Splicer.

Earlier today, a Reddit user, u/KainLonginus, made a post on the Destiny subreddit pointing out that Season of the Splicer’s seasonal challenges doesn’t reward a total of 6,000 Bright Dust as Bungie originally announced in Destiny 2. Instead, the total amount of Bright Dust players can get from this season’s challenges is 5475 BD.

Bungie Responds To The Destiny 2 Seasonal Challenges Bright Dust Discrepancy

Bungie’s Senior Community Manager, Dylan Gafner, replied to the Reddit thread saying that team is looking into this and will provide an update as soon as possible. Shortly after, Gafner replied to the thread with some new details from the team about this issue. It looks like Seasonal Challenges Bright Dust rewards will vary from season to season in Destiny 2 depending on the activities.

“Seasonal Challenge Bright Dust rewards should be expected to vary somewhat from season to season depending on the activities and challenges leveraged,” Gafner replied. “Due to our lack of communication, once Season 14 is over we will issue a make-good to players who finished the S14 meta-challenge to make up for the 525 discrepancy we did not disclose. In the future, we will outline the Seasonal Challenge Bright Dust rewards in the patch notes at the start of each season.”

This confirms that players who have completed the meta-challenge in Season of the Splicer will get the remaining 525 Bright Dust after season 14 is over. Additionally, Bungie will also point out any Seasonal Challenges Bright Dust rewards at the start of the season moving forward, which is a good thing.

Right now, Solstice of Heroes is going strong in Destiny 2. We’re almost halfway through this event which is ending on August 3, 2021. Bungie has introduced new armor ornaments, triumphs, and a new shotgun called Compass Rose.
