Destiny 2’s Festival of the Lost 2024 is here, but it’s not without its tricks! Here’s a full breakdown of all the known bugs players are facing, from misplaced perks to questline mix-ups.
The spooky season has finally arrived in Destiny 2. With the launch of the annual Festival of the Lost event, Bungie has added new rewards, and the chance to hunt Headless Ones in the Haunted Sectors once again.
This year’s event dropped with the weekly reset today, offering up a new shotgun, Arcane Embrace, updated perks for old Festival of the Lost weapons, and exclusive Wizard-themed armor sets. But excitement quickly turned to frustration for many players as a series of bugs haunted this year’s event.
From unusual weapon perks to questline mix-ups, players are facing a handful of unexpected issues. Shortly after the launch, players noticed that some weapons weren’t dropping as expected.
The Bugs Haunting Festival of the Lost 2024 in Destiny 2
Eva Levante, the event vendor, even seemed confused—giving out questlines from the summer event, Solstice. Here’s a breakdown of all the currently-known bugs in this year’s Festival of the Lost event.
New Arcane Embrace Shotgun with Incorrect Perks
Arcane Embrace is the new weapon in this year’s Festival of the Lost, and the first-ever Heavy Brust shotgun in the game. The first drop you get of the weapon by completing the event questline “Classic Carving” is bugged, and is dropping with the perk “Trench Barrel” when this perk isn’t even part of the weapon’s perk pool, as per the information available in the API.
Solstice Questline from Eva Levante
Eva Levante seems to be having a bit of seasonal confusion, as she’s still giving out the Solstice questline, which belongs to a completely different event.
Old Weapons, Old Perks
Old Festival of the Lost weapons are supposed to come with updated perk pools for 2024, but many are dropping with last year’s perks instead. Additionally, Braytech Werewolf currently has no focusing options available at Eva Levante.
No Matchmaking in Expert Haunted Sectors
With today’s update, Bungie announced that matchmaking would be removed from Expert Haunted Sectors, and an option for it will be added to the in-game LFG, Fireteam Finder.
However, players found that there’s no option for Expert Haunted Sectors in the Fireteam Finder either.
Headless Ones Timer Glitch
An old bug has also returned this year, where players who reach nine Headless One kills find themselves stuck, unable to progress until the timer finally expires, at which point the boss will spawn.
Bungie has acknowledged some of the issues in Festival of the Lost 2024 and is investigating fixes. The good news is that players can now obtain Exotic Class Items from Eva this year without needing to complete the Dual Destiny exotic mission.
And, don’t forget to grab free Candy at the Tower.
