A new leak suggests Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 might lock Limited-Time Modes and exclusive cosmetics behind the Battle Pass.

The next Call of Duty game, Black Ops 7, is already getting people talking, and not just because of its rumored campaign or return of fan-favorite characters. If the early reports are true, this could be one of the most ambitious (and possibly controversial) entries in the Black Ops series to date.

According to earlier leaks, Black Ops 7 is expected to pick up where Black Ops 2 left off, taking place in the year 2035. The campaign will supposedly bring back Alex Mason and Frank Woods, feature 4-player co-op, and include an open-world map called “Avalon.”

Multiplayer is also rumored to be expanding with massive 32v32 matches and the return of the fan-favorite Pick 10 system. Zombies is said to be going big too, with the original crew returning, a Tranzit remake, and the biggest round-based map in the series.

Now, some new details have been leaked for the next Call of Duty game.

Battle Pass May Lock Away LTMs and High-End Rewards

A known Call of Duty leaker on X (formerly Twitter), TheGhostOfHope, just dropped some new information that’s got a lot of people raising their eyebrows. According to their post, Activision and Treyarch are planning a big change to how the Battle Pass will work in Black Ops 7. And it could affect how players access certain content, including Limited-Time Modes (LTMs) and premium cosmetics.

Instead of LTMs being free for all players like they are now, Black Ops 7 may require you to own the Battle Pass to play them. These seasonal LTMs are said to be more “high value” than usual, with special gameplay mechanics and exclusive rewards.

On top of that, things like top-tier skins, crossover operators, and special loot will reportedly only be available to Battle Pass owners, replacing the Premium Event Track we currently see during mid-season updates like Reloaded.

“Black Ops 7 will reportedly have more seasonal LTM’s and some of them would be considered “higher value” with unique rewards and different game mechanics/modes but the only way to play the LTMs will be to have the battle pass unlike how it’s currently free for everyone,” the post reads.

“They are planning on taking the higher-tier skins, loot, and crossover operators for LTMs and making them only accessible to Battle Pass owners instead of having the “Premium Event Track” we currently get during Reloaded updates.

Of course, nothing is confirmed just yet. As always, it’s smart to take leaks like this with a grain of salt until Activision or Treyarch says something officially. But if this turns out to be true, it would mark a pretty big change in how Call of Duty handles seasonal content and rewards, especially for players who usually skip the Battle Pass.
