A recent Arc Raiders datamine reveals unreleased bosses, maps, game modes, and hints of earlier PvE elements.
When Embark Studios opened the doors to Arc Raiders’ Tech Test 2, most people weren’t expecting it to be this good. The reaction so far has been surprisingly positive, with players returning daily, and many are enjoying the mix of PvE and PvP elements, the atmospheric tone, and the overall polish.
Compared to Bungie’s Marathon, which has struggled to win people over during its two-week Closed Alpha Test, Arc Raiders feels like a more approachable and layered experience. Now, while we’ve been testing the surface-level content, a Reddit user appears to have found some unreleased content by looking through the game files.
Arc Raiders Leak Sheds Light On PvE Elements, Maps, Modes, and More
A Reddit user named CoUsT shared details from a recent datamine of Arc Raiders on the game’s subreddit. Using files pulled from a limited test build of the game, they were able to find a long list of internal content, some of which looks like early work that never made it in, and some that could be hints at what’s coming next.
New Bosses and Enemy Types:
Let’s start with the bosses. The datamine names several big enemies, likely bosses, with food-based codenames like Wasabi, Mustard, Salt, Fennel, Radish, and Pepper. They come with unique abilities and health pools that suggest deep, multi-phase fights. For example, “Mustard” may have three different phases, and “Wasabi” is packed with aggressive attacks like EMPs and fast strikes.
There’s also a large variety of regular enemies mentioned, including drones, bots, and heavy weapon units. The game even includes detailed behavior patterns and destructible parts on bigger enemies, meaning you can disable weapons or movement systems mid-fight.
Interestingly, there’s mention of Autobots, which are likely AI-controlled Raider units. These could be bots for solo players or dev testing tools, but either way, it hints at flexible play beyond PvP.
New Maps and Potential Locations:
Aside from the currently known maps like Buried City, The Dam, and Spaceport, the files mention a new area called The Blue Gate. It looks like it’s still being worked on since it doesn’t have Points of Interest (POIs) tagged yet, but it could be the mystery area shown in earlier map speculation.
There are also references to dev-only locations like Death Match and Combat Validation, along with a Mountain Compound that might be a snowy area, and an Onboarding zone for tutorials.
Game Modes and PvE Leftovers:
For those unaware, Arc Raiders originally started out as a PvE looter shooter game. Embark later shifted the game’s direction to an extraction shooter. And now, it appears we may have some details on what that original PvE vision was.
According to the datamined information, there are leftover tags for “MiniBoss” and “RaidBoss,” plus older game modes like HarvesterHunt, Reclaim, Siege, and OutpostDefense (which even has an Elite difficulty). There’s even a “Kill Zone” mechanic that sounds like an early version of the damage-dealing storm circle we see today.
All this points to a game that was possibly designed with more PvE content in mind, or maybe still has room to grow in that direction.
Abilities, Loot, and Gadgets:
The leak also lists a bunch of player abilities like Stomp, LaserRing, and SummonVehicle. Skills can impact stats like stamina, damage, and fall damage, which suggests a deeper progression system under the surface.
Items come in tons of categories: armor, weapons, throwables, gadgets, and even an item called the ARCFriendifier, which might let you control or ally with ARC units. There are also detailed loot containers scattered across the world, like lockers, kitchen benches, and car trunks, each potentially offering different types of rewards based on the environment.
Other noteworthy bits:
- 13 emotes including Dance, Laugh, and HeelClick.
- Weather effects like fog, fire, and sandstorms: 17 types in total.
- A potential first-person mode: There’s a tag for 1st-person camera that reads “GameplayEffect.DeploySequence.1PCam”
- Mentions of a jetbike vehicle called DardoRosso.
- Feature flags for Discord integration, party size tweaks, destructible environments, and more.
As exciting as all this sounds, it’s important to remember this was all pulled from test files. Some of it could be old, experimental, or never meant to go live. But if even half of what was found ends up in the final game, Arc Raiders could be offering way more than people expect.
