A new GTA 6 leak has revealed major gameplay details like the return of the 6-star wanted level, underwater exploration, a relationship system, and more.
Grand Theft Auto 6 is easily one of the most talked-about games of this decade. Ever since Rockstar officially announced it, fans have been glued to every teaser, rumor, and leak, hoping for even the smallest clue about what’s coming next.
The hype shot through the roof with the release of the game’s second trailer earlier this year, which broke records and gave us a real glimpse at what to expect from this blockbuster title. While many were expecting to get their hands on GTA 6 in Fall 2025, Rockstar recently confirmed the release date has moved to May 26, 2026.
A few months ago, a user known as “GameRoll” on X (Twitter) went viral for leaking the full names of the game’s protagonists, Jason and Lucia, a detail that turned out to be accurate after Rockstar’s official reveal.
That same user shared some new details earlier this week about the game, including 700+ stores, male strippers, and more. Now, they have posted a new long thread with even more details about GTA 6.
New GTA 6 Leaked Detail
According to the latest claims from “GameRoll,” GTA 6 will be bringing back the classic 6-star wanted level, something fans have been missing since the earlier games. This means players could once again be dealing with the full force of the law if they cause too much chaos around Vice City.
The leaker also claims that there’s a new relationship system, similar to the honor system in Red Dead Redemption 2, which could change how you interact with other characters based on your choices and actions.
One of the biggest upgrades mentioned is underwater exploration. The leak says players will be able to explore underwater areas packed with secrets and treasure, potentially opening up a whole new part of the map to unlock. Along with this, GTA 6 is said to feature over 700 enterable shops and buildings (previously leaked), functional shopping malls with working elevators, and even explorable skyscrapers.
The way you play as the main characters is also getting a big change. According to “GameRoll,” you’ll have a character wheel with three options: you can play as Jason alone, Lucia alone, or control both at once for robberies and missions. This dual protagonist system isn’t just for cutscenes, it sounds like you’ll be able to use it in real-time during open-world gameplay.
Some other leaked gameplay features for GTA 6 are:
- Weight mechanics, meaning your character’s appearance and stats might change based on how you play
- Driving is described as the best in any GTA game so far
- Gore and dismemberment inspired by Red Dead Redemption 2
- NPCs react realistically if you pull out a gun in public
- Male strippers are appearing in some clubs for the first time
- A limited weapon system, where you store extra guns in your car’s trunk
A few mechanics reportedly didn’t make the final cut, like prone movement, dual-wielding weapons, burglary mini-games, and listening to music outside of cars. There’s also no Disney World parody, and the game will avoid fully nude sex scenes.
The story itself is said to be structured in five chapters, much like Red Dead Redemption 2, with all the footage from Trailer 2 coming from the first three chapters. The map is apparently another massive island, but without a “panhandle” area, and introduces a new character named Donnie, described as Jason’s friend and a “freak.”
“The character wheel has three options: Solo Jason, Solo Lucia and Dual protagonist control, where Lucia/Jason can be controlled at the same time to rob together in the open world. Some missions are also started using the two of them at once,” the post reads.
As always, none of this information is confirmed, so we suggest taking everything with a grain of salt. GameRoll added, “I have no proof of any of this information other than it’s all come from the same exact source who told me Jason and Lucia’s last name.”
In related news, Rockstar’s parent company, Take-Two Interactive, is confident in the project. CEO Strauss Zelnick recently said that GTA 6 will “exceed players’ expectations” thanks to its scale and complexity. With the release now set for May 2026, fans will have to wait a bit longer to see which of these features make it into the final game.
