A new Facebook post from ASUS ROG Italy suggests the Xbox Ally X handheld might arrive this summer, much earlier than expected.
The ROG Xbox Ally X handheld might be landing sooner than expected, at least according to a recent post from ASUS ROG Italy on Facebook. Originally revealed during the Xbox Games Showcase earlier this month, the Ally X is an upgraded version of last year’s ROG Ally, featuring better hardware, longer battery life, and Xbox branding baked right in.
ASUS hasn’t shared an official release date yet, sticking with a vague “Holiday 2025” launch window. But over the last few days, several leaks and rumors have claimed the device will start pre-orders in August, with a release planned for mid to late October.
Now, a new social media post is throwing a summer launch into the mix, adding even more confusion to the mix.
ROG Xbox Ally X Summer 2025 Launch Leaked?
Earlier today, the official ASUS Republic of Gamers Italy Facebook page published a post that directly references the ROG Xbox Ally X and says it’s coming “this summer.” The post reads:
“We had one mission: to let you play better and for longer… anywhere. Soon you’ll be able to do that. ROGXboxAllyX is coming this summer.” (machine translated)
While this might sound exciting for those waiting to get their hands on the Ally X, it’s worth noting that this could very well be a mistake by the social media team. The official messaging from ASUS and Xbox still says “Holiday 2025,” and no other region-specific accounts have posted anything similar.
The Game Post has reached out to ASUS for clarification and will update this story if we hear back.
