Following the disastrous launch of MindsEye, the studio behind it is reportedly working on a new game tied to a very popular TV show.
Build a Rocket Boy, the studio led by former Rockstar Games producer Leslie Benzies, launched MindsEye earlier this month to a wave of negative reviews. Players slammed it for poor performance, a lifeless open world, and frequent crashes.
Some even compared it to the buggy state of Cyberpunk 2077 at launch, but with less substance. Just before release, two top execs mysteriously left the company, raising eyebrows across the industry. To make things worse, the studio didn’t send review copies to the press, which only fueled suspicion.
Now, despite the mess, there’s word that Build a Rocket Boy is already working on a brand-new, unannounced project, and this one could be tied to a very well-known TV show.
Build a Rocket Boy Working On A New Game Based on a Major TV Series?
The claim comes from Spanish YouTuber BaityBait, who says he’s spoken to multiple developers involved in MindsEye. According to him, the team is quietly working on a second project, something that involves a big-name license.
In his video, BaityBait shares that alongside early work on MindsEye 2, the studio is also developing a separate project based on a very popular television series. He doesn’t name the IP, but makes it clear it’s something that “everyone knows.”
“They also have another secret project in development, one with a very powerful license for a very large company that hasn’t been announced yet,” BaityBait said. “I can’t say which one it is, they explicitly asked me not to, but I can say it’s based on a TV series that ‘everyone knows.'”
So far, there are no solid hints about what show it might be based on. But with Leslie Benzies’ track record and industry connections, it’s easy to imagine something high-profile. Think the kind of series that could easily translate into an open-world game or cinematic adventure.
Fans online are already speculating everything from Breaking Bad to The Boys, to Game of Thrones, but there’s no confirmation yet. That said, it’s worth remembering that this hasn’t been officially confirmed. So, we suggest taking everything with a grain of salt.
