A new report suggests Forza Motorsport studio Turn 10 may be facing job cuts as part of Microsoft‘s upcoming Xbox layoffs.

Reports of another wave of major layoffs at Xbox are making the rounds again, and this time, one well-known studio might be on the chopping block. Reports of another major round of job cuts at Microsoft’s gaming division first came from Bloomberg and The Verge earlier this week.

Then, yesterday, long-time industry figure George Broussard shared a post on Bluesky suggesting that between 1,000 to 2,000 Xbox staff could be impacted, and that some entire studios could shut down altogether.

Turn 10 Reportedly “Bracing for Cuts”

The latest update comes from journalist Tom Warren, who shared new details in his Notepad newsletter (paywalled) over at The Verge. According to Warren, Microsoft is planning what he describes as “major” Xbox layoffs next week, and some internal managers have already been briefed about it.

Warren goes on to say that while there’s speculation floating around about studio closures, he’s also heard from sources that Turn 10, the team behind the Forza Motorsport series, is specifically preparing for layoffs.

“I’ve heard from sources that Turn 10, the studio behind Forza Motorsport, is bracing for cuts,” said Warren.

Of course, nothing is officially confirmed yet. This is all based on internal chatter and anonymous sources, so it’s smart to take everything with a grain of salt for now. As of writing, Microsoft hasn’t made any public comment or announcement regarding these reported layoffs or what studios might be affected.
