Bungie has confirmed a new Destiny 2 mobility bug affecting armor mods, just days after fixing the game’s base movement speed issue in the latest update.
Earlier this week, Destiny 2 players finally got some good news on the movement front. Bungie rolled out a fix for a frustrating Edge of Fate bug that had players running at speeds equivalent to 0–1 Mobility, far lower than the intended baseline.
After the patch, Hunters were restored to their intended 40 Mobility speed, while Titans and Warlocks returned to the old 30 Mobility baseline. But just as things seemed back to normal, the community has already found another movement-related issue, and this time it’s tied to armor mods.
Another Mobility Bug Found in Destiny 2
The new bug was first flagged by Crystic_Knight on the DestinyTheGame subreddit, the same player who initially helped uncover the original base mobility bug. While the fix did restore normal baseline speeds, testing now shows that Enhanced Athletics mods, used to boost movement speed, aren’t giving the correct values.
According to their measurements, the first Enhanced Athletics mod currently grants +20 Mobility instead of the intended +30. The second mod gives around +15, and the third appears to add roughly +5. This is a big drop from the way mods worked before the update.
For comparison, Bungie previously stated that with one, two, or three stacks of the mod, players should get the equivalent of +30, +50, and +60 Mobility under the old system. Crystic also noted that Lightweight frame weapons now only grant +10 Mobility instead of +20, though they still provide the forward movement bonus.
“The bad news is that now the armor mods are not working as Bungie intended,” the Reddit post reads. “The first enhanced athletics mod you slot in will grant +20 mobility now instead of +30. The second, and this one is odd, seems to grant +15? mobility. The value landed in between the old system’s tiers. And going from that estimation, I believe the last mod grants +5, but it is hard to tell.”
Bungie has since replied directly to the thread, confirming that the devs are aware of the issue:
“Appreciate the report, team is aware of the issue and currently working on a fix for a future update.”
As of now, Bungie hasn’t provided an ETA for when this new bug will be resolved. On top of that, the studio recently confirmed another issue in Destiny 2 affecting Titan’s Ward of Dawn and Warlock’s Well of Radiance Supers.
