Here’s how to get the Wolfsbane Exotic Axe in Destiny 2 from the new Heliostat mission, including all perks and catalysts available.

Destiny 2 just added a brand-new Exotic mission called Heliostat, and it launched today as part of the Ash & Iron update. This mission takes place in the Plaguelands, where players are sent to stop The Conductor, who is trying to amplify her Echo using old Warsat technology left behind from the Golden Age.

And of course, with every new Exotic mission comes a new weapon, and this one’s a first for the series. Wolfsbane is the first Exotic Axe (technically a heavy sword) in Destiny 2. It’s a Solar weapon built around Quicksilver nanites that heal, recharge, and eventually turn your swings into a blazing swarm of molten metal.

In this guide, we’ll go over exactly how to get Wolfsbane in Destiny 2, what it does, and every perk, catalyst, and upgrade option available.

How to Get Wolfsbane in Destiny 2

To unlock Wolfsbane, you’ll need to complete the new Exotic mission Heliostat. The mission is now available in Destiny 2, and can be found under the Pinnacle Ops, then Exotic Missions tab once unlocked.

Your first completion of Heliostat is locked to Normal difficulty with fixed modifiers. This ensures every player experiences the mission the same way the first time. Once completed, it unlocks in Pinnacle Ops, where you’ll be able to adjust Portal tiers and modifiers for more challenging replays.

Once you’ve completed the mission, you’ll receive Wolfsbane immediately as your reward.
