A new Pokémon Gen 10 leak may have just revealed the titles, theme, and even the region for the next mainline games.
It’s been a pretty quiet year on the mainline Pokémon front, at least, officially. Fans are still waiting on the release of Pokémon Legends: Z-A, the next major title, which takes players back to Lumiose City and brings back Mega Evolutions. Pokémon Legends: Z-A is launching on October 16, 2025, just days from now.
But when it comes to Generation 10, things have mostly been silent… until now. Over the past year, several unverified rumors claimed the next region would be inspired by Greece or the Mediterranean, and that the new mainline games could release around Pokémon’s 30th anniversary in 2026.
Now, a well-known leaker has just dropped what might be our first real look at Pokémon’s next generation. According to new info shared today, Gen 10 isn’t just coming with fresh titles and a brand-new setting.
Pokémon Winds and Waves: Leaked Details, Titles, Region, and More
The source of the leak is Centro Leaks, one of the more consistent (and sometimes accurate) Pokémon leakers online. According to the leaked details, Pokémon Gen 10 will be called Pokémon Winds and Pokémon Waves, releasing in 2026. The games are reportedly directed by longtime series lead Shigeru Ohmori, who previously helmed Pokémon Sun and Moon, Sword and Shield, and Scarlet and Violet.
Centro claims the leak comes from Ohmori’s internal documents from 2021, which described the original concept for Pokémon Generation 10 as being set in Indonesia and Southeast Asia. This directly contradicts earlier reports that the new region was based on Greece, suggesting that the earlier rumor was fake.
The region choice fits the “Wind” and “Waves” theme well, as the Indonesian archipelago’s vast islands and tropical climate naturally lend themselves to such elements.
Here are all the major leaked details about Pokémon Gen 10:
- The theme of Gen 10 is “Infinity.”
- The region is inspired by Indonesia and Southeast Asia, with multiple islands and natural elements playing a big role.
- The games are being directed by Shigeru Ohmori, who previously led Sun & Moon, Sword & Shield, and Scarlet & Violet.

Pokémon Wind and Waves: Legendary Pokémon and New Mechanic
The documents also reveal early details about the games’ box legendaries, referred to as the “Storm Pokémon” (role: grandfather) and the “Wave Pokémon” (role: grandmother). Both reportedly live on isolated islands and possess the power to guide humans and Pokémon using wind and waves, respectively. Each only accepts humans who have properly raised the mysterious “Seed Pokémon.”
As for new battle mechanics, Gen 10 will supposedly introduce something called 天候技 (Tenko-Waza) — which roughly translates to “Weather Moves.” It’s said to be a weather-focused system, though no additional details were provided.
Pokémon Gen 10 Story, Seed Pokémon, and Characters
Centro LEAKS has shared even more information about Pokémon Wind and Pokémon Waves, revealing what might be the biggest peek yet at the story, characters, and the mysterious new Seed Pokémon mechanic. Again, none of this is confirmed, but it paints an exciting picture of where Game Freak might be heading next.
The Seed Pokémon appear to be a new kind of special creature in Generation 10. According to the leak, these are baby Pokémon found in resort areas, unevolved forms that are rarely seen in the wild. No one has ever seen what they evolve into, but when they travel to the island where the legendary Pokémon reside, they begin to evolve. Their evolved appearance “is said to have infinite variations,” which could tie directly into the game’s main theme of Infinity.
The leak also outlines a full cast of characters that may appear in Pokémon Wind and Waves. The player character, a 13-year-old from a big city inspired by Kuala Lumpur, begins their adventure when their mother wins a vacation trip through a lottery. They travel with her and a baby sibling, who learns to walk and talk by the story’s end.
Players will also meet a local friend, the same age as the protagonist, who acts as a rival and is deeply connected to nature. Depending on the player’s gender, this character changes slightly between versions.
The potential villain group is called the Land Development Team. They’re simply a group destroying nature for money. There’s also the “Hotel Chairman” (75 years old), who once wanted humans and Pokémon to live in harmony, but after losing a child in a tragic Pokémon-related incident, he turned against them. His heir (15) now helps run the operation but is said to be naive and conflicted.
Finally, there’s the Professor, nicknamed the “Survival Professor.” Aged 21, they study the link between Pokémon and weather phenomena, connecting back to the rumored new Tenko-Waza (Weather Moves) system that may define battles in this generation.
More Leaked Pokémon Gen 10 Details: Gyms, Procedural Evolutions, and “Pokémon Engine X”
Following the initial Gen 10 leak, Centro Leaks has shared even more information about Pokémon Winds and Pokémon Waves, expanding on the game’s gameplay structure, procedural systems, and its overarching design philosophy.
According to the new report, Winds and Waves will merge the series’ familiar Gym and Titan Pokémon challenges into a single progression system. Players can take on a total of 18 challenges, each representing one Pokémon type and reportedly inspired by the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals. Completing all 18 will unlock the path to the Champion battle.
The leak also claims that once players acquire sea traversal abilities, they can head straight to the final boss and trigger the game’s credits early, though this route is said to be significantly more difficult than the standard progression.
One of the most intriguing additions revolves around the Seed Pokémon, which players reportedly receive at the very start of their journey. Training this Pokémon to a certain level unlocks access to the main Legendary’s island, a location described as procedurally generated based on the player’s individual training performance. The Seed Pokémon’s evolution is also procedurally generated and is unique, featuring fractal and floral designs that differ for every player, further reinforcing the game’s central theme of Infinity.
While the Champion and Legendary encounters are technically optional, the leak notes that both are required to access the “true ending.“
Centro’s post also lists several gameplay modes and side activities for Pokémon Winds and Waves, apparently pulled from internal documentation:
- Gym Adventure
- Weather Skill Acquisition Quest
- Ride License Quest
- MMO Raid Battle
- Pokémon Rescue
- Boss Pokémon (an evolved form of the Titan/Totem concept)
- Pokémon Survival
- Diving
Lastly, the games are reportedly built using a new internal graphics engine called “Pokémon Engine X.“
Editor’s Note – This article was updated to include newly surfaced details regarding Pokémon Winds and Pokémon Waves, covering gameplay structure, procedural systems, and the reported new “Pokémon Engine X.’
Of course, none of this has been confirmed by Nintendo, The Pokémon Company, or Game Freak. Like any early leak, it’s best taken with a grain of salt until official reveals arrive, likely during Pokémon Day 2026 if the usual pattern holds.
