NetEase has dropped the official Season 5 trailer for Marvel Rivals, confirming Rogue and Gambit as new playable heroes alongside new Battle Pass skin teasers, and more.
With Season 4 wrapping up later this week, all eyes are now on what’s next for Marvel Rivals. The game’s fourth season introduced new heroes like Daredevil and Angela, along with a bunch of balance changes and events that kept things busy. But as that season winds down, excitement has naturally shifted to Season 5, and it looks like NetEase is bringing two fan-favorite mutants into the spotlight.
Yesterday, the studio officially confirmed that Rogue and Gambit will be joining the Marvel Rivals roster in Season 5. The announcement came with a fun little teaser posted on social media, styled like a wedding invitation featuring the two heroes, a clever nod to their long-standing relationship in the Marvel universe.

And now, NetEase has released the full trailer for Season 5, giving us our first proper look at Rogue, Gambit, and plenty more coming to the game.

Gambit and Rogue Join the Fight
Gambit is officially the 44th playable character in Marvel Rivals, joining the roster with the launch of Season 5 this Friday, November 14th. He’s voiced by AJ LoCascio, who also portrays Gambit in X-Men ’97, bringing plenty of charm and energy to the Cajun hero. Gambit’s combat style revolves around his signature kinetically charged cards and flashy melee combos, making him a natural pick for Duelist-class players.

Rogue, meanwhile, will follow shortly after as the 45th playable character, launching in Season 5.5 next month (December 2025). Voiced by Lenore Zann, the original Rogue from X-Men: The Animated Series, she’s a Strategist-type hero capable of copying powers from nearby allies or enemies to turn the fight in her favor.

Gambit and Rogue Abilities
Per leaked details, Rogue is classified as a Strategist-type hero, capable of temporarily copying abilities from nearby allies or enemies. Her leaked abilities, Capacity Building and Ability Draw, suggest she’ll play a flexible support or counter role, perfect for turning an opponent’s power against them.
Gambit, on the other hand, might be a Duelist-class hero who uses his signature kinetically charged cards to deal explosive damage. His skill set includes Kinetic Energy Card, Energy Accumulation, and Node Card Array, giving him a flashy, combo-based playstyle that rewards timing and mobility.
According to early info, Rogue will be available right at the start of Season 5, while Gambit will arrive later during the mid-season 5.5 update, similar to how Daredevil joined partway through Season 4.
