A trusted leaker says a “big” Star Wars game announcement is coming soon and now hints the title ends with “The Old Republic.”
In the last few years, Star Wars games have built up a pretty stacked lineup. We have Star Wars Zero Company, a single-player turn-based tactics game from Bit Reactor that is aiming for a 2026 launch and focuses on a squad fighting through the late Clone Wars. Star Wars Eclipse is still in development at Quantic Dream as a branching action adventure set in the High Republic era, with no release window yet.
EA and Respawn have confirmed a third Star Wars Jedi game to close out Cal Kestis’ story, and Saber Interactive keeps saying the troubled Knights of the Old Republic Remake is still alive behind the scenes.

At the same time, fans have watched projects fall apart. Respawn’s single-player Star Wars FPS, widely reported as Mandalorian-themed, was cancelled in 2024 as part of EA’s layoffs. Star Wars Hunters launched on Switch and mobile, only for Zynga to announce that servers will go offline in 2025.
Add in the long silence around KOTOR Remake, and it has felt like a mix of big promises and sudden dead ends. Now, though, it looks like a genuinely major Star Wars game reveal might be around the corner.
New leak suggests a Star Wars game ending with “The Old Republic”
This week, well-known industry leaker Kurakasis started teasing a major Star Wars game announcement on X (Twitter). In their first post, they told followers that a big Star Wars game reveal is coming “very soon” and made it clear the project is not Star Wars Zero Company or Star Wars Eclipse, both of which are already public and in development.
“A big Star Wars game announcement is coming very soon,” the leaker said in a post on X. “And just to be clear, this announcement has nothing to do with Star Wars: Zero Company or Eclipse.”
In a follow-up quote tweet posted today, they went further and gave an explicit hint about the title itself. According to the leaker, the name of this “big” mystery game literally ends with the words “The Old Republic,” which points straight at that era and its fan favourite stories.
“The title of this game ends with ‘The Old Republic’,” the new post reads.

That naturally pushes speculation toward a few obvious candidates. The timing of the tease lines up with The Game Awards 2025, which will stream live from the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles on December 11 and is known for world premiere trailers and major third-party reveals.
That phrasing naturally pushes speculation toward two main options. One is a full re-reveal of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic Remake, which has been in a strange limbo since its delay and studio switch, but which Saber keeps insisting is still in development. The other is some kind of entirely new project tied to Star Wars: The Old Republic MMO branding, which has carried the Old Republic era forward for more than a decade.
Right now, the most likely guesses are a new look at the KOTOR remake, a new single-player game tied to the Old Republic era. Until we see a trailer, though, none of that is more than educated guessing.
As always with this kind of thing, it is important to take everything with a grain of salt. Nothing here has been confirmed by Lucasfilm Games, EA, Saber, or any studio, and plans can change even at the last minute. For now, all we really have is a trusted leaker saying a big Star Wars game with “The Old Republic” in its title is on the way.
