Luke Smith (game director at Bungie) has just released the Director’s Cut for Destiny 2 Year 4. In that long blog-post, we got to know what Bungie has planned for the future of Destiny 2 and how the evolving world of Destiny 2 is working out (which is pretty amazing). Also, Luke Smith finally talked about the fate of one of the community’s most favorite events – Faction Rally in Destiny 2.
Destiny 2: Faction Rally Is Not Bungie’s Top Priority
According to Luke Smith, it has finally been confirmed that Faction Rally is not what Bungie is working on right now and is not the top priority to Bungie. The main reason Bungie gave us is that the reward for the Faction Rally “hasn’t been used that much.” But on the flip side, Bungie is adding Faction Rally armor sets to the legendary engram loot pool along with some of the popular weapons.
“Lots of folks have been wondering if Faction Rallies will return. We have no plans to bring back Faction Rallies. The reward gear hasn’t been used that much, our character cast is growing too large, and crucially, they didn’t drive a bunch of engagement with the game. That said, there’s some sweet looks in that gear and we’re moving the Faction Rally armor to the Legendary engram reward pools in Season 10, alongside a few popular faction weapons.”
Season 10 is looking very strong. With Trials of Osiris officially returning and the storyline for Rasputin, Season of the Worthy will definitely be an interesting one for sure. As for the release date and rewards for Trials, make sure to check out our article covering just that.
