Bungie has revealed new details about Destiny 2: Codename Frontiers, the new 2025 content plans, including new raids, dungeons, and more.

Last week, Bungie announced an upcoming developer insight article, set to release on September 25, 2025. This post promises to dive deep into the details of Destiny 2’s future content model, Codename Frontiers and will address burning questions from the fanbase.

Today, Bungie finally delivered on that promise. In the newly-released blog post, Bungie has confirmed that Destiny 2 will get one raid and one dungeon per year moving forward in 2025.

“Every year will kick off with a brand new raid, as part of the first Expansion,” the article reads. “The following Major Update will then expand on this raid, adding new challenge, twists, and rewards.”

“The second Expansion each year will deliver a new dungeon, with an expanded reward offering. The fourth and final Major Update of the year will launch an Event that leverages legacy raid and dungeon content along the lines of The Pantheon.”

Destiny 2 Codename Frontiers: No More Dungeon Keys

In addition to the information above, Bungie has also confirmed that there will no longer be Dungeon Keys moving forward, as the new dungeons will be a part of the second expansion of the year.

“Because the dungeon will be launching as part of our Codename: Behemoth Expansion, there will no longer be a separate Dungeon Key.”

Earlier this month, Bungie unveiled the full roadmap for Destiny 2’s ambitious 2025 content plan. As many fans anticipated, the game will shift away from its traditional model of a single annual expansion. Instead, Bungie will deliver two smaller expansions each year, providing a steady stream of new content for players to enjoy.

In 2025, players can look forward to two major expansions, codenamed Apollo and Behemoth, set to launch in the summer and winter, respectively. Each expansion will introduce new stories, raids, dungeons, and missions.

In addition, each expansion also comes with two free, game-changing updates, that will feature new and returning activities, fresh rewards, Artifact mods, and much more.

These updates aim to keep the game world of Destiny 2 evolving throughout the year, giving players new reasons to dive back into the game regularly. You can check out the content roadmap for Destiny 2 Codename Frontiers below.

Apart from that, Bungie has also revealed a significant redesign coming to Destiny 2’s activity selection system called “The Portal”. The goal is to make the game more accessible, ensuring both new and veteran players can easily find engaging activities while reducing the clutter of the current system.
