Bungie is lowering the difficulty of Destiny 2’s Desert Perpetual raid and making it easier to complete a specific triumph, following a week of community complaints.

If you’ve been struggling through Destiny 2’s Desert Perpetual raid lately, you’re definitely not alone. Ever since the big Edge of Fate update landed, there’s been a wave of frustration and debate across the community. Players have said that the new power scaling and bullet-sponge bosses have taken the fun out of the experience.

But the good news is that Bungie has now come forward and confirmed that it’s making some big adjustments to the Desert Perpetual raid. After a week of player feedback and ongoing community discussions, the dev team has decided it’s time to ease things up and give everyone a fairer shot at better rewards.

Bungie Lowers Desert Perpetual ‘Combined Mastery’ Triumph Requirement

Earlier today, the Destiny 2 Team posted on social media outlining upcoming changes for the Desert Perpetual raid. First off, the base difficulty of the raid is getting a drop, with the power level of enemies being lowered by 10 Power. This means bosses and other enemies will be less tanky, and players will be able to deal more damage.

On top of that, Bungie is making it easier to complete the Combined Mastery triumph. Instead of requiring five completions of every raid encounter with at least three raid feats active to upgrade a gear tier, now just a single run at base difficulty will bump up your loot.

Overall, these tweaks should make the raid a lot more accessible, less frustrating, and more rewarding. Here’s the full statement from Bungie on the upcoming changes:

“We will also be updating difficulty and the ‘Combined Mastery’ Triumph in the Desert Perpetual Raid to address player feedback,” the post reads. “Base Combat Difficulty will be lowered by 10 Power: Enemies will deal less damage, and players will be able to deal more damage.”

“We will be lowering the Cutthroat Combat Raid Feat, specifically the Combat Difficulty, by 10. Was +40 combatant power, will be +30 combatant power.

“We will be lowering the ‘Combined Mastery’ Triumph to only require a single completion at base difficulty, which will upgrade Gear rewards by one tier depending on number of feats active. Example: Instead of getting a T1 reward, you’ll get a T2 reward. Layering on additional feats will increase difficulty but also help you get to T3 rewards and beyond.”

The studio says the changes are being tested for Update 9.0.0.5, but there’s no confirmed release date just yet. In addition, Bungie also confirmed that raid and dungeon difficulty across all legacy content will be lowered by 10 Power.
