Destiny 2 The Witch Queen added one of the best features in the game yet, which is a legendary difficulty mode for its story campaign. After a very positive reception from the community, Bungie has confirmed that Destiny 2 Lightfall (upcoming expansion) will also feature a legendary campaign difficulty.
In an interview with Dexerto, Project Lead, Blade Battle confirmed that the Lightfall expansion will include a legendary campaign.
“I can say that we are planning legendary difficulty mode for Lightfall but without Joe [Blackburn, Game Director] here I’m not going to go further than that right now,” Battle said.
“I think that with a renewed emphasis on the campaign and depth, it’s not just about length.
“It’s also about a meaningful experience, so adding a Legendary difficulty campaign allowed us to create an experience for those players that just want a more engaged, meaningful, difficult campaign experience while maintaining the classic campaign that gives more casual players a chance to enjoy the story.”
Destiny 2 Lightfall Legendary Campaign Difficulty Confirmed
Now that Bungie has confirmed the legendary campaign for Lightfall, it’s fair to assume that The Final Shape (the final expansion in Destiny 2’s Light and Darkness saga) will also feature this difficulty mode, however, it’s not been officially confirmed yet.
The legendary campaign was and still is one of the best parts of The Witch Queen expansion, the level of challenge it added was just perfect. This mode features a fixed power level for the player which means being overpowered will give no advantage.
Destiny 2 Lightfall will release in early 2023.
