Destiny 2 has got a few more content drops before the big Star Wars-themed Renegades expansion launches in December 2025. Here’s a quick look at what’s coming soon, and when.
Destiny 2 is in a strange but familiar place right now. The most recent exotic mission called Heliostat, which launched earlier this week as part of the Ash & Iron update, hasn’t exactly wowed the community. Reactions have been mixed-to-negative, with many feeling like it was too short, underwhelming, and didn’t feel like an exotic mission.
Still, the months ahead aren’t completely empty. Before Renegades launches on December 2, 2025, Bungie has a few limited-time events lined up to keep players busy, including the annual Halloween event and a new competitive event.

In this article, we’ve put together a quick roadmap to walk you through everything Destiny 2’s getting before Renegades hits.
Upcoming Destiny 2 Content Roadmap (October – December 2025)
Here’s everything coming to Destiny 2 before the Renegades expansion:
- 300 Power Level Catch-Up Boost: October 14, 2025
- Festival of the Lost 2025
- Starts: October 21, 2025
- Ends: November 4, 2025
- Call to Arms
- Starts: November 11, 2025
- Ends: December 1, 2025
Note
We’ll update this section if Bungie officially announces or confirms additional content.
Now, let’s talk about what each of these events actually brings to the game.
Destiny 2 Festival of the Lost 2025 Content Detailed (October 21 – November 4)
The annual Halloween event returns again this year in Destiny 2, but with some new changes. Instead of Haunted Sectors (which we’ve been running for the past couple of years), this year’s Festival of the Lost introduces a brand-new activity: Haunted Altars.
Haunted Altars Explained:
According to datamined strings (thanks, Colony Deaks), Haunted Altars seems to be a mix between Altars of Sorrow and Onslaught, the wave-based mode that launched during the Into the Light update. It’s a multi-tier activity (from 1 to 5), where you’ll be collecting and banking “treats”, building defenses like in the Onslaught activity, while defending different zones.
Based on what’s leaked so far, this one sounds a lot more engaging and fun than the old Haunted Sectors.
Festival of the Lost 2025: New Weapons and Armor
There are also new (and reissued) weapons and armor coming with the Festival of the Lost event. For weapons, we have three new ones. These are:
- Gunburn – Kinetic Submachine Gun
- Hushed Whisper – Strand Combat Bow
- Arcane Embrace – Arc Shotgun
As for the armor, this time, we Jason Voorhees Titan set, the Slenderman Warlock set, and the La Llorona Hunter set. Check them out below.
Like every year, Festival of the Lost brings a batch of new and returning masks, and 2025 is no different. This year’s event features nine masks in total, including:
- Weasel Error Mask
- Spicy Ramen Mask
- Oryx Mask
- Orin Mask
- Lodi Mask
- Grim Mask
- Fungal Mask
- Failsafe Mask
- Drop Pod Mask
Destiny 2 Call To Arms Content Detailed (November 11 – December 1)
Now, let’s talk about the Call to Arms event. Right after the Festival of the Lost event ends, Bungie will launch Call to Arms on November 11. It’s a limited-time, competitive event that runs until December 1. Players will go head-to-head in several playlist activities to earn high scores and climb through graded ranks from S to D.
You’ll need to equip a full set of the new gear to participate. Every event activity contributes to your overall Event Score, which updates every 15 minutes on the in-game Call to Arms Board. Reaching top-tier ranks can earn you an exclusive helmet (for those who finish with 100+ Competitor Points) that has a tail of flames at the top. There’s also a Seraphim Age Cover ornament, only available through the event’s Rank Reward track.
Apart from that, there are also other cosmetics tied to this event, including the shaders (seen below). Call to Arms also features a new Seal and Title called Avant-Garde.
According to datamined info (thanks, Snake), the event has two phases: the main competition and a follow-up Celebration Week. During the competition period, players rack up points, unlock rewards, and compete for leaderboard positions. Once the competition ends, new scores won’t register, but any previously unlocked items remain claimable. You’ll also still be able to grab the main event gear from Devrim Kay, who acts as the event vendor.
Devrim will have a daily rotating weapons and gear, which players can attune and earn by completing activities. Call to Arms focused activities include:
- Heliostat
- The Coil
- Salt Mines
- Proving Grounds
- Zone Control
As always, it’s worth keeping in mind that some of this extra info comes from datamined strings, not official Bungie announcements. Until the devs confirm the specifics in an official post or TWID update, it’s best to take everything here with a grain of salt.
In other related news, popular Destiny 2 streamer Aztecross recently said Bungie has two paths to save Destiny: either make Destiny 3 or Destiny Classic. This comes after the game hit its lowest Steam player count ever.
