In a recent update, Bungie revealed some new details about the episode, focusing on a brand-new dungeon that will drop shortly after the episode’s release.

When is the Destiny 2 Revenant Dungeon Release Date?
First things first, the Episode Revenant dungeon will be going live on Friday, October 11, 2024, at 10:00 AM PT. Bungie confirmed the news in the latest This Week in Destiny blog post.

What is the Name of Destiny 2 Revenant Dungeon?
At the moment, Bungie hasn’t officially revealed the name of the new dungeon coming in Episode: Revenant. While the dungeon’s release date and some exciting features like Contest Mode have been confirmed, the actual title remains a mystery.
Destiny 2 Revenant Dungeon Contest Mode Power Level
For the first time ever, the new Dungeon set to launch in Episode Revenant will feature Contest Mode, which has typically been reserved for raids. Similar to raids, this Contest mode will be active for the first forty-eight hours, until Sunday, October 13, 2024, at 10 AM PT.
If you’re unfamiliar, Contest Mode is a temporary modifier that caps your Power Level, leveling the playing field and making the challenge even tougher for those trying to blaze through it.
At this time, we don’t have any details on the power level requirement for this contest mode. We will update this section once we have more details.
Here’s what Bungie has to say about it: “The new dungeon will feature a Contest Mode for the first time ever. So, gather your favorite fireteam, save the date, and we’ll have more details for you in the weeks ahead!”
Destiny 2 Revenant Dungeon Exotic Weapon
Let’s talk about what everyone loves—loot! Every Destiny 2 dungeon comes with a shiny new Exotic weapon, and the Revenant Dungeon is no exception. This time, Bungie is bringing back a fan-favorite from Destiny 1: Ice Breaker Exotic Sniper Rifle. It was confirmed in the 10th anniversary blog post.
In the blog post, Bungie said, “As you may have already guessed thanks to our key art, a certain Exotic Sniper Rifle, one considered a myth by many at this point, is resurfacing in the upcoming Dungeon. We’ll share more info at a later date, but we hope this helped… break the ice.”
However, we don’t yet know exactly how this updated version of Ice Breaker will function in Destiny 2. What do the new perks look like? Bungie is keeping those details under wraps for now, but we’ll be sure to update this section once more information is revealed.
