The launch of Destiny 2’s Episode: Revenant is just around the corner, with less than a month to go. Set to release on Tuesday, October 8, 2024, Revenant will continue the story of Fikrul, the Fanatic, tying into other ongoing Fallen storylines.
In a recent update, Bungie revealed some new details about the episode, focusing on a brand-new dungeon that will drop shortly after the episode’s release.

When is the Destiny 2 Vesper’s Host Dungeon Release Date?
First things first, the Episode Vesper’s Host Dungeon will be going live on Friday, October 11, 2024, at 10:00 AM PT.

Destiny 2 Vesper’s Host Dungeon Contest Mode Power Level
For the first time ever, the new Vesper’s Host Dungeon set to launch in Episode Revenant will feature Contest Mode, which has typically been reserved for raids. Similar to raids, this Contest mode will be active for the first forty-eight hours, until Sunday, October 13, 2024, at 10 AM PT.
Here are Contest Mode details for Vesper’s Host dungeon, along with Power level requirements:
- Contest Mode enabled for 48 hours. Normal Mode will be available as soon as the first three teams clear the dungeon.
- You will need to be at 1985 Power Level to be at the cap through all the encounters.
- In order to compete in the Dungeon race, players must first acquire the quest “Rogue Network” from Spider in the Last City Seasonal hub.
- Completing the Vesper’s Host dungeon during the Contest Mode will unlock a new emblem and the dungeon Exotic weapon for every Fireteam member.
If you’re unfamiliar, Contest Mode is a temporary modifier that caps your Power Level, leveling the playing field and making the challenge even tougher for those trying to blaze through it.
Completing the dungeon during the Contest Mode will get a guaranteed drop of a new exclusive emblem called Vespertine.
Destiny 2 Vesper’s Host Dungeon Race Rewards
Bungie announced new Bungie Rewards for the Vesper’s Host dungeon, including a hoodie and a bracelet. For the dungeon race, if you’re among the top three teams to complete the dungeon race, you’ll earn an exclusive, embroidered version of the hoodie featuring your Gamertag.

Destiny 2 Vesper’s Host Dungeon Race: Twitch Drops Emblems
Players can also unlock two exclusive Destiny 2 emblems by tuning into the Vesper’s Host dungeon race. These two emblems are called “Effortless Flow” and “Broadcasting from the Dark”. Here are the requirements for each of them:
- Effortless Flow: Watch at least two hours of any creator with Twitch Drops enabled. Active between October 11th 9:30AM PT on October 11 and 10:00AM PT on October 13.
- Broadcasting from the Dark: Subscribe to your favorite Destiny 2 streamer. Active between October 11th 9:30AM PT on October 11 and 10:00AM PT on October 13.
Destiny 2 Vesper’s Host Dungeon Exotic Weapon
Let’s talk about what everyone loves—loot! Every Destiny 2 dungeon comes with a shiny new Exotic weapon, and the Revenant Dungeon is no exception. This time, Bungie is bringing back a fan-favorite from Destiny 1: Ice Breaker Exotic Sniper Rifle.
Here are the full breakdown of the exotic perks on the updated Ice Breaker:
- No Backpack: Final blows or assists with any other weapon or ability have a chance to create ammo for Ice Breaker. Defeating powerful combatants will create multiple rounds.
- Ice Breaker: Defeating a target with this weapon causes them to explode. Precision final blows or shattering a frozen target instead triggers an ignition.

However, we don’t yet know exactly how this updated version of Ice Breaker will function in Destiny 2. What do the new perks look like? Bungie is keeping those details under wraps for now, but we’ll be sure to update this section once more information is revealed.

The new title for Vesper’s Host dungeon is called “Unleashed”. Here’s how it looks in the game.

As for the new armor and legendary weapons tied to the Revenant Dungeon, things are still a bit of a mystery. Bungie hasn’t shown off any of the gear just yet. Rest assured, as soon as we get a look at the new armor sets and weapons, we’ll be updating this section with all the latest details.
