Bungie has revealed some exciting new updates coming to Destiny 2 Trials of Osiris next month with the launch of Episode Heresy.
Episode Revenant is wrapping up. With that, Bungie has started sharing some of the new changes coming to Destiny 2 with Episode Heresy, launching on February 4, 2025. This next episode promises the return to fan-favorite Dreadnaught, a destination added with the Taken King expansion in Destiny 1, and introduces two shiny new sets of armor and weapons
In addition to that, it looks like Bungie is also shaking up one of the game’s endgame PvP activities: Trials of Osiris. This mode has seen its ups and downs over the last few years. But it looks like Bungie is finally making some big changes to this beloved game mode.
In this article, we’ll talk about everything coming to Destiny 2’s Trials of Osiris in Episode Heresy.
Destiny 2 Episode Heresy: New Trials of Osiris Changes Detailed
Trials of Osiris is undergoing a major overhaul in Episode Heresy. Bungie has acknowledged that the current setup can feel unapproachable for many players, especially those who struggle to go Flawless. To fix this, the developer is introducing changes aimed at making Trials more fun and rewarding for everyone.
First, a new reward structure will ensure that players are rewarded for participation and progress, even if they don’t achieve a Flawless run. This includes a system where you can earn rewards by reaching seven wins on your Passage, regardless of losses. For those who enjoy a challenge, higher win streaks will unlock exclusive rewards like Adept weapons and unique cosmetics.
Another significant change is the introduction of two simplified Passages. The Lighthouse Passage is designed for players aiming to reach the Lighthouse by focusing on win streaks and cumulative progress. On the other hand, the Trials of Osiris Passage provides a more relaxed experience, offering rewards similar to Iron Banner and focusing on matchmaking that’s fairer and less stressful.
Here’s a quick overview of the new Passage, according to Bungie:
- Lighthouse Passage: “Win seven games on a Lighthouse Passage and you will earn entrance to the Lighthouse, regardless of how many losses are on the card.”
