NetEase Games has shared a pre-launch developer update for Destiny: Rising, confirming 200+ free draws, endgame plans, and monthly content drops.
Destiny: Rising is almost here. And yes, it’s a free-to-play mobile shooter with gacha pulls at its core. The global release for the game hits on August 28, with pre-download on August 27 at 6 AM PT, and launch at 9 AM local time for each regional server. The devs also put out a chunky dev update to walk through what’s changing at launch and how content will roll out after day one.
In short: the team is reworking key systems, including the Artifact, the Mod system, and has added the slide ability. In addition to this, the developer said that players will get a lot of free pulls during the launch. “During launch, players will receive over 200 free draws, including at least 12,500 Lumia Leaves,” the devs say.
New Destiny: Rising Details Ahead Of August 28 Launch
First, let’s talk about the weapons and Artifacts. The weapon mod system has been reworked from the ground up with random attributes and new progression paths, while Artifacts no longer use set bonuses.
Now, each Artifact now carries its own attributes that you can mix and match. The devs have also confirmed that they have added the highly-requested Slide ability in the game. “For weapons, we’ve rebuilt the mod system from the ground up,” the devs said. “You’ll now experience random attributes and new progression paths that make each gun feel unique and customizable. “
“As for Artifacts, we’ve scrapped the old artifact set’s bonus system. Each Artifact now comes with its own distinct attributes, letting you mix and match to create your perfect combat style. Something many of you asked for, we’ve added the slide ability. This brings more fluid movement and tactical options to every fight.”
The devs have also shared some updates for the endgame section. At launch, Destiny: Rising will feature a Gauntlet event during the first week of Season 0, giving players a shot at a limited-edition emblem. What makes it unique is that the more people who clear it, the bigger the rewards become for everyone across the community.
Then, in Season 1, week two, the developer will release the “true challenge” version of the Gauntlet. This mode will feature encounter mechanics and tougher enemies, maybe something similar to Destiny 2‘s raids and dungeons. Those who manage to finish it will get exclusive high-tier rewards and a “dynamic emblem.”
On top of that, NetEase has confirmed that Master and Grandmaster difficulties are coming for players who want harder content.
New Rewards and Seasonal Updates
The reward system has been improved too. Achievements now pay out “more “substantial” Lumia Leaves currency, while daily login bonuses and a 14-day event for new players will provide plenty of free pulls right at the start. “During launch, players will receive over 200 free draws, including at least 12,500 Lumia Leaves,” the developer said.
Pinnacle Energy system is also getting some changes: while you have energy, rewards are boosted; when it’s depleted, you still get consistent base rewards that “no longer diminish over time.”
NetEase has confirmed that Destiny: Rising will get new seasons about every two months, new characters every four weeks, and weekly maintenance on Thursdays (2–5 AM PT). The studio also teased a new Season 1 character ornament set that hasn’t been revealed yet.
Destiny Rising roadmap:
- August 2025: Season 0 launch
- September 2025: Season 1 launch – Game content: Estela, Umeko
