A new Destiny Rising datamine has revealed our first look at Jaren Ward and his full ability kit, along with hidden references to other fan-favorite characters.
NetEase’s Destiny Rising just kicked off Season 2: Season of the Moor, adding a ton of new content and its latest Mythic hero, Maru, a Void character who uses Grenade Launchers as her weapons. The new season also brought cross-server play, new events, and endgame challenges.
But it looks like Maru won’t be the only familiar face joining the roster for long. Recently, there was a datamined leak that hinted at a batch of upcoming characters, including Jaren Ward, a fan-favorite Hunter and the original wielder of The Last Word.

Now, thanks to a new leak, we’ve got our first proper look at Jaren inside Destiny Rising, along with details on his ability set and some interesting teases for other characters still hidden in the game’s files.
First look at Jaren Ward and his abilities in Destiny Rising
The leak comes from well-known dataminer insanityunbound, who shared the details on Reddit. According to the leaked details, Jaren Ward is currently marked as a Solar Hunter character equipped with a Super called “High Noon Duel.” The post even included three in-game portraits of Jaren (one animated), showcasing his white hat and red scarf.
Check out the in-game look at Jaren Ward below.

Destiny Rising: Jaren Ward’s Full Abilities
Here’s everything found in the datamined strings for Jaren Ward’s abilities in Destiny Rising:
- Super: High Noon Duel
- Jaren draws Vows and engages in a High Noon Duel with the target closest to the reticle.
- Jaren enters the High Noon Duel state after locking onto a target, automatically aiming at their weak spots and continuously firing when the Attack button is tapped, dealing 80 precision (precision ratio: 1.5) Solar damage per shot. Attack speed and damage will ramp up as he fires, up to 36 shots can be fired consecutively.
- High Noon Duel lasts for up to 12s and can be ended early when either Jaren or the target is defeated, or manually. If the duel ends early for any reason, a certain amount of Super energy will be refunded. Emerging victorious grants additional Super energy.
- Jaren gains damage resistance and movement speed during High Noon Duel.
- If there are no targets nearby when this Super is cast, it will enter the search state, during which Jaren will engage any target that comes into view in a duel. If no combatant is targeted within 10s, 50% Super energy will be deducted, and the search will end.
- Passive / Mastery: Stag Totem
- Jaren starts with 5 stacks of Stag Totem, each granting a 10% increase to the recharge speeds of Blazing Shot and High Noon Duel and 10% or 4% damage resistance in PVE or PVP respectively. Jaren loses 1 stack for every 10% of his max health lost.
- Jaren gains 1 stack of Stag Totem for every 6s he doesn’t take damage. Stacks 5x.
The leaked strings mention other ability names like Blazing Shot, but without full descriptions. Some more leaked images for Jaren Ward can be seen below.

Alongside Jaren’s first look, the dataminer also mentioned a few unreleased characters referenced in the files. One of them is a Solar Hunter with a Super literally called Golden Gun, which many are speculating to be Shin Malphur. He’s not mentioned by name, and there’s no art yet, but it’s a strong hint.
There’s also a Void Warlock ability set found in the files. The leaker speculates this could be Felwinter, though they admit it’s just a guess. Another Solar Warlock with Egyptian-themed abilities was also mentioned, heavily implying Osiris might be in the works too.
Of course, as with any datamine, it’s smart to take all this with a grain of salt. Game files change frequently, and not every reference means something’s actually coming.
NetEase recently shared a six-month roadmap for Destiny Rising, confirming seasonal content into April 2026, including new characters, modes like Tower Defense, and even a new campaign.
