A new Destiny Rising datamine leak has revealed four characters that seem to be coming sometime in the future, including a familiar gunslinger Destiny 2 players might recognize.
Destiny Rising has been out for just a month after getting over 10 million pre-registrations. Recently, NetEase ran its first major raid race with the Eclipse Gauntlet Onslaught. And just last week, a new report revealed that the game has generated over $9 million in revenue across two million downloads in its first 20 days.
Alongside all this, Destiny Rising continues to expand its roster of playable characters. Earlier this month, the devs announced two new characters: Estela and Umeko. Players have already seen familiar names from Destiny lore, like Ikora Rey, Kabr, and others, join the lineup.
Now, thanks to a newly surfaced datamined leak, it looks like four more characters are on the way, and one of them is a gunslinger that longtime Destiny lore enthusiasts should immediately recognize.
Four New Destiny Rising Characters Leak
The leak comes from Reddit user insanityunbound, who shared datamined in-game strings, descriptions, and even a short banner video from Destiny Rising’s latest build. According to them, these details were pulled directly from English localization files and code references.
According to the leak, the four upcoming characters in Destiny Rising are:
- Helhest
- Maru (was already present in the Closed Alpha Test)
- Rossi-11
- Jaren Ward
Let’s talk about what they might be able to do in-game, starting with the one that had an actual video leaked.
Helhest
Unlike other characters on the list, Helhest comes with a leaked video, showcasing her in-game character model as well as the character select animation. She’s an Awoken Hunter (Support character) with a floating drone companion that reportedly heals allies and damages enemies.
While her role hasn’t been officially confirmed, the leaker believes she might be a Mythic-tier Warlock, though no abilities or talent strings were found in the files just yet.
There’s also some lore attached to Helhest that was datamined. She was said to have been resurrected on Felwinter Peak (a location that Destiny fans might be aware of), and her upgraded prosthetic hand, called Nebula-9, was custom-built by a scientist. Her Ghost’s is named Grom, per the leaked information.
Below, you can check out the exact text strings from the game files.
Nebula-9:
When first resurrected on Felwinter Peak, Helhest’s right hand was merely a Base prosthetic. Felwinter brought her back to the territory, and the scientist secluded herself in the laboratory for less than half a month. Upon reemerging, she handed the successfully completed Nebula-9, Version 9, to Helhest. From that moment on, the truly complete Lightbearer Helhest activated her journey.
Her Ghost, Grom:
Helhest’s most reliable and steadfast lieutenant, always unconditionally trusting and supporting her Lightbearer.

Jaren Ward
Longtime Destiny fans might recognize the name Jaren Ward, a legendary Hunter who was the original owner of The Last Word and father figure of Shin Malphur. In Destiny Rising, it looks like he’s finally making his debut as a playable character.
His leaked Super is called High Noon Duel, and it sounds like a precision-focused standoff mechanic. It automatically locks onto the nearest enemy to your reticle, aims at their weak spots, and lets you fire up to 36 Solar bullets consecutively.
Below, you can check out the exact text strings from the game files.
High Noon Duel:
Jaren draws Vows and engages in a High Noon Duel with the target closest to the reticle. Jaren enters the High Noon Duel state after locking onto a target, automatically aiming at their weak spots and continuously firing when the Attack button is tapped, dealing 80 precision (precision ratio: 1.5) Solar damage per shot. Attack speed and damage will ramp up as he fires; up to 36 shots can be fired consecutively.
High Noon Duel lasts for up to 12s and can be ended early when either Jaren or the target is defeated, or manually. If the duel ends early for any reason, a certain amount of Super energy will be refunded. Emerging victorious grants additional Super energy. Jaren gains damage resistance and movement speed during High Noon Duel.
If there are no targets nearby when this Super is cast, it will enter the search state, during which Jaren will engage any target that comes into view in a duel. If no combatant is targeted within 10 seconds, 50% Super energy will be deducted, and the search will end.
Stag Totem:
Jaren starts with 5 stacks of Stag Totem, each granting a 10% increase to the recharge speeds of Blazing Shot and High Noon Duel and 10% or 4% damage resistance in PVE or PVP, respectively. Jaren loses 1 stack for every 10% of his max health lost.
Maru
Maru was first shown in the official trailer and even appeared in last year’s Closed Alpha Test as a playable character, so players already have a good look at her in-game and know her full ability set. She is a Tier 5 Void Lightbearer who wields a Void cannon and can summon a massive Void shield to block incoming damage.
Rossi-11
Per leaked information, Rossi-11 seems to be a Tier 4 Arc Warlock and has abilities involving overshields. Little is known about Rossi-11 apart from the above details.
As always, take all of this with a grain of salt. These leaks come from datamined info, and there’s always a chance that things could change, or never be released at all.
