Just hours before Xbox’s Tokyo Game Show stream, an official ad has seemingly confirmed Forza Horizon 6’s setting and release window.

Xbox’s Tokyo Game Show 2025 showcase hasn’t even started yet, but it looks like one of its biggest reveals may have slipped out early, and from none other than Forza’s own Instagram.

Earlier today, fans spotted a sponsored ad running on the official @forzahorizonofficial account promoting Forza Horizon 6. The ad features the game’s title, a “Wishlist Now” button, and most notably, a clear background of Japan’s iconic Mount Fuji, framed by cherry blossoms.

Update, September 25, 2:36 AM PT: Fans have now spotted the full teaser trailer for Forza Horizon 6, which you can watch below.

In case there was any doubt, the caption confirms it: “The Horizon Festival is heading to Japan. Coming 2026. Wishlist now!”

Leak Confirms Forza Horizon 6 Set in Japan, Coming 2026

This lines up perfectly with earlier reports suggesting Forza Horizon 6 would be set in Japan, something fans have been asking for over the years. The post also confirms the game is targeting a 2026 release, making it the longest gap between Horizon games to date.

Xbox is scheduled to host its Tokyo Game Show 2025 broadcast today, September 25, at 7 PM JST (that’s 3 AM PT, 6 AM ET, and 11 AM in the UK). Many expected Forza Horizon 6 to headline the event, but with this official ad going live ahead of schedule, the surprise may have slipped early.

Still, this doesn’t mean Xbox won’t bring more to the table later today. There’s still a lot we don’t know, how big the map is, what new features are coming, or how the game might evolve from Horizon 5. If history is anything to go by, we’ll likely see a first trailer or gameplay showcase during the presentation. For now, though, the cat’s out of the bag: Forza Horizon 6 is real, it’s set in Japan, and it’s coming in 2026.
