Bungie’s response to Destiny 2’s Heavy Sword event glitch that gives One Thousand Voices infinite ammo: “Go have fun!”
Today, Destiny 2 released a new limited-time event called the Heavy Sword event, where all heavy swords in the game regenerate ammo over time. Basically, infinite sword ammo for everyone!
Naturally, this had fans excited to dive into their favorite activities and slice through enemies without worrying about running out of heavy ammo. But things got even more interesting when players noticed something strange.
One Thousand Voices, the heavy fusion rifle from the Last Wish raid, also appears to be regenerating ammo out of thin air! This led to a frenzy of players spamming One Thousand Voices in PvE, PvP, and Gambit activities, creating a chaotic and fun “Laser Tag” scenario reminiscent of the one that happened back in the early days of Destiny 2.
Destiny 2 One Thousand Voices Infinite Ammo Glitch
Of course, this is clearly a bug, and now after a couple of hours, Bungie has finally chimed in. Posted on the official Destiny 2 Team account, Bungie says that it may limit this bug in Gambit, but other than that, “go have fun.”
Update, September 4, 11:22 AM PT: Bungie has posted an update, stating that it is not disabling One Thousand Voices in Gambit. “We are not planning to disable One Thousand Voices in Gambit. Enjoy the chaos through Tuesday reset.”
“May limit One Thousand Voices in Gambit,” said Bungie in a post on X (Twitter). “But outside of that… go have fun.”
For those unaware, this event is only active in select activities in the game, excluding the end-game activities like raids and dungeons. Below, you can find the complete list of activities where you can take advantage of the infinite ammo on heavy swords and, of course, on One Thousand Voices.
- Seasonal activities
- Strikes
- Nightfalls
- Gambit (One Thouse Voices may not work)
- Crucible: Relic mode
- Lost Sectors (Legend and Master)
In other news, it looks like Bungie is gearing up for a new Destiny game announcement, titled “Destiny Rising”. This is according to recent reports from reputable insiders, claiming that the studio is working on a new Destiny mobile game with the Chinese gaming giant, NetEase.
