As 2024 came to a close, Arrowhead‘s chief creative officer and creative director of Helldivers 2, Johan Pilestedt posed a thoughtful question to fans on Twitter, now X: “What are your expectations and desires for what the next Arrowhead game will be? I am working on the high concept, but I would love to hear your speculation.”
While many responses celebrated his openness, one comment stood out, urging the team not to add DEI elements to their games: “Never add DEI to your games.”
Pilestedt’s response? “If it doesnt add to the game experience, it detracts. And games should be a pure pursuit of amazing moments.”
This statement resonated with some fans. Pilestedt’s stance emphasizes that every design choice, including DEI, must serve the game’s ultimate goal: creating unforgettable gameplay.
His pragmatic approach aligns with Arrowhead’s philosophy of delivering cooperative fun that keeps players coming back for more.
