A new report claims Hollow Knight Silksong could finally appear at a major gaming showcase, with a release set for before summer 2025 ends.
For years now, Hollow Knight: Silksong has been the definition of “most-wanted sequel” for a huge chunk of fans. The original Hollow Knight became a massive hit thanks to its challenging gameplay, beautiful art, and mysterious world. Ever since Team Cherry announced Silksong, fans have been glued to every update, trailer, or rumor, hoping to find out when the long wait will finally be over.
The anticipation has only grown with time, especially as Silksong kept missing rumored release dates. Xbox even included the game in its “coming soon” showcases, adding fuel to the fire. As we hit June, the traditional showcase season, now packed with events like Summer Game Fest and the Xbox Showcase, players are looking for real answers.
And according to a new report, that answer might finally be coming very soon.
New Report Claims Silksong Showcase and Release Window
This week, well-known insider and leaker Nate the Hate shared on his podcast that Hollow Knight: Silksong is set for a major reveal at one of this week’s big gaming showcases, either Summer Game Fest or the Xbox Games Showcase. Even more exciting for fans, the report claims Silksong is expected to launch before the end of summer 2025, putting the finish line finally in sight.
According to Nate, “the game is going to have a presence either at Summer Games Fest or the Xbox Showcase and it will release before summer of 2025 concludes.” This means fans might get both a new trailer and a concrete release date announcement in the next few days.
For those unaware, Summer Game Fest is scheduled for June 6, and the Xbox Games Showcase following on June 8, both major stages for a long-awaited indie hit like Silksong.
This lines up with other recent hints, including backend Steam updates. All these signs suggest the game is much further along than fans might have feared. That said, it’s important to remember that nothing is confirmed until Team Cherry says so themselves, and plans can always change.
We’ve seen shifting timelines and last-minute delays before, so as always, take this report with a grain of salt.
