Want to know how to get your own Sandbike in Dune Awakening? Here’s an easy guide that covers everything you need.
Dune Awakening drops you right into the middle of the harsh deserts of Arrakis, where survival means everything. The game is packed with things to collect, craft, and upgrade. As you play, you’ll find yourself hunting for powerful gear, picking up rare materials, and slowly building up your own base.
Travel is a big part of Dune Awakening, since the map is huge. That’s where vehicles come in. As you move forward in the game, you’ll get to see and even ride different vehicles like the Ornithopter, which lets you take to the skies; the Buggy, which is great for hauling loot; and, of course, the Sandbike, which is perfect for zipping across long stretches of desert.
Every vehicle is useful, but the Sandbike stands out as the easiest and most reliable way to get around early on. In this guide, we’ll walk you through exactly how to get your own Sandbike in Dune Awakening, how to craft it, what you’ll need, and what’s changed with free Sandbikes since launch.
How to Get The Sandbike in Dune Awakening
Building your own Sandbike is one of the most useful things you can do in Dune Awakening. Before you can craft one, you’ll need to have a basic base set up. Here’s everything you need to know to build and craft your own Sandbike:
Setting Up: What You Need
One of the first things you should do is build a Fabricator. This is a crafting station where you can make all kinds of items, including vehicles. Place it inside your base and make sure you have enough space to work with.
You’ll also want to have a Small Ore Refinery set up so you can turn regular copper ores into Copper Ingots, which you’ll need for building the Sandbike. Later on, you’ll also need a Small Chemical Refinery, but that comes in handy once you start making fuel for your bike.
- Fabricator: This is the main crafting station for a ton of things, including vehicles. Place one in your base using your Construction Tool.
- Small Chemical Refinery: This is for making fuel for your Sandbike.
- Small Ore Refinery: You’ll need this to turn raw Copper Ores into Copper Ingots.
Collecting Materials
Now, crafting a Sandbike does require some effort, but it’s very doable. There are a few main parts you absolutely need, like the chassis, engine, hull, power supply unit, and three threads, which are basically the bike’s tires. On top of these, there are some optional parts you can add, such as a back seat, a booster, or a storage container. You can only pick one of these extras, so choose what works best for you.
Most of the basic materials can be found by exploring and scavenging, especially Copper. To get Copper Ingots, all you need to do is gather copper ore and refine it in your base using the Small Ore Refinery. For more advanced parts like Advanced Servoks or Particle Capacitors, you’ll need to head into dungeons in Imperial Testing Grounds and loot the chests.
Another way to get Advanced Servoks and Particle Capacitors is by purchasing them from different NPCs in the game.
Crafting Your Sandbike
Once you’ve got all your materials together, it’s time to put everything together. Start by building your Fabricator and use it to craft a Welding Torch. This tool lets you assemble, take apart, and even repair your Sandbike later on.
After making the Welding Torch, craft all the Sandbike parts, starting with the Chassis, then the Engine, Hull, Power Supply, and Tires. If you want an extra feature, craft your chosen optional part too, like the Booster, the Backseat, and the Inventory.
Now, equip the Welding Torch, place the Chassis down, and then start putting everything together. It’s all pretty straightforward, just attach each part one by one until your Sandbike is complete.
How to Refuel and Repair Your Sandbike
Your Sandbike will need fuel to run, and luckily, making fuel is easy. Set up a Small Chemical Refinery in your base to craft the Small Vehicle Fuel Cell. To craft these, you’ll need regular Fuel Cells. To get these, look for fuel cells while exploring scavenger camps and Outposts. These look like little cube-shaped batteries. Gather them and bring them back to your base to turn them into fuel.
To refuel your Sandbike, stand near it and hold down the “F” key to bring up the menu, then select the “Refuel” option. The fuel lasts a good while, so you won’t have to worry about running out too often.
Eventually, you’ll need to repair your Sandbike when it takes damage, which is where the Welding Torch comes in again. To repair your sandbike, just use the Welding Torch on your bike, and right-click button (RMB) to activate the Repair, and then simply use the left-click button (RMB) to repair each part individually.
Once you’ve gone through the work of building and fueling your Sandbike, you’ll want to keep it safe. Arrakis is full of things that can wreck your ride, including sandstorms and giant worms. If you leave your Sandbike out in the open, it can get destroyed.
To keep it protected, you can use something called the Vehicle Backup Tool. Once you have it, equip it, aim it at your Sandbike, and use the LMB to store your Sandbike. This will store your Sandbike safely.
How to Get Free Sandbike in Dune Awakening
When Dune Awakening first launched, there was a cool little trick to grab a free Sandbike early in the game. Players found them inside certain scavenger camps right near the starting area. If you were quick and lucky, you could hop on, claim it, and get rolling without having to build your own.
However, as of the latest update, this free Sandbike method has been patched. The bike no longer spawns in the same spot, and most players report that it’s just not there anymore. While it was a great shortcut for early game travel, you’ll now need to follow the crafting steps above to get your first Sandbike.
