Bungie has started sending out Marathon Closed Technical Test invites.
Bungie’s getting ready to put Marathon through another round of testing, and this time, more players are finally getting in. The studio recently announced a Closed Technical Test for its upcoming extraction shooter, giving players another look at how the game has evolved since the alpha earlier this year.
The tech test will run from October 22 to October 28, across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and S, and PC (Steam). It’s under NDA, meaning you won’t be able to post clips or stream gameplay. It’ll include three maps, five runner shells, a solo queue option, proximity voice chat, and improved environmental storytelling, all updates made based on earlier player feedback.

Now, just ahead of the test’s start date, Bungie has started sending out invites to players who previously signed up through its official website.
Bungie begins sending Marathon tech test invites
As of today (Monday), we can confirm that Bungie has started sending out invites for the Marathon Closed Technical Test. Selected players will see a message reading “You’ve Been Selected” on the official Bungie playtest page, along with a code to redeem on the platform they signed up with.
Here’s how to check if you got in:
- Visit Marathon’s official playtest survey page here.
- Log in with the same platform account you used to sign up.
- If you’re selected, you’ll see the message: “You’ve Been Selected. Redeem your code on the platform shown below. If you’ve previously played Public Alpha, you can just update or re-download the game from your library.”
- If not, you’ll see that the survey has expired, meaning you’re not in this wave yet.
Bungie has confirmed that invites are being sent in batches throughout the testing period, so if you didn’t get in yet, keep checking the page over the next few days.
Earlier this month, The Game Post exclcusively reported several changes made to Marathon since its alpha, including faster TTK, , new “Heat Cascade” mechanic, shooting range, Codex system, titles, and more.
