Marvel Rivals: Blade Finally Joins the Roster
Fans have been asking for Blade for a while, and now he’s officially stepping into the fight in Season 3.5 as a “true duelist.” Blade’s kit is all about getting up close and personal. Here’s a quick overview of his abilities.
- Shotgun: Brings “pressure force” in close range and can reduce enemy healing at just the right moment.
- Ravenous Ancestral Sword: “Awaken the Dhampir bloodline” and slice through every last enemy.
- Sword of Dracula (Ultimate): Draw the legendary blade, dash through foes, and leave a “deadly trail” in your wake.

New Game Mode and Map
A brand-new game mode called Resource Rumble is arriving alongside the Throne of Knull map. This mode will be available first in Quick Match starting August 22, 2025, where the devs will collect feedback before rolling it out to competitive play.
Expect more details in an upcoming gameplay deep-dive, but if you like trying new objectives, this will be the one to watch.
Stronger Anti-Toxicity Tools
The developers are making a real push to keep matches positive. Starting July 24, all in-game voice chat will be automatically screened, with human review for any flagged behavior.
Players using inappropriate language will get penalized, helping make the game more welcoming for everyone. There’s also a new custom text chat filter so you can block out specific words, and the devs will keep updating the filter list based on feedback.
“All in-game voice chat will now be automatically screened by the system with human review,” the developer revealed. “This means we will catch more toxic behavior and players using inappropriate language will be penalized, making the game a better place for everyone.”
Competitive Quitting Penalties and Point Compensation
If you’ve ever had a teammate quit mid-match, you know how rough it can be. In Season 3.5, players who leave matches will face tougher penalties, including longer bans and bigger point losses. For players who stick around, you’ll get some compensation points if your team is left shorthanded.
Surrender votes will also get easier if someone disconnects, and the appeals process for mistaken penalties is being sped up.
Technical Improvements
PC players get a big quality-of-life upgrade in Season 3.5. No more waiting for shaders to compile before you jump into the game. After the update, shaders will load in the background while you’re in the lobby, making everything faster and using less memory.
The full patch notes for Marvel Rivals Season 3.5 will be posted before the update goes live, so keep an eye out if you want all the exact numbers and balance tweaks.
