A new Twitch campaign might have just leaked Marvel Rivals Season 3’s title, new heroes, and upcoming skins ahead of schedule.
It’s been over 6 months since the release of Marvel Rivals. NetEase’s superhero team shooter kicked things off with a decent-sized roster and added even more characters in Season 1, with the Fantastic Four joining the roster. In Season 2, the developer introduced two new characters: Ultron and Emma Frost.
Now, with Season 2 starting to wind down, a lot of eyes are on what’s coming next. Which characters will make their debut in Season 3? Will we get more maps or modes? When is it even launching?
While nothing official has been confirmed yet, it looks like we might’ve just gotten a sneak peek, thanks to a Twitch Drops campaign that may have gone live a little too soon.
Marvel Rivals Season 3 Leak Reveals Title and Heroes
Earlier today, new information surfaced from Twitch’s official Summer Drop Fest 2025 post, which appears to have accidentally revealed key details about the upcoming Marvel Rivals Season 3. The post, which went live earlier today, includes what looks like a full breakdown of rewards, and more importantly, confirmation about what’s coming in the game’s next major update.
Based on the leaked information, the title of the upcoming season is “Marvel Rivals Season 3: The Abyss Awaken.” The description included in the Twitch listing also confirms that Phoenix (aka Jean Grey) and Blade will be the next two new hero characters joining the roster.
These are two highly anticipated characters that have been previously teased through datamines and voice lines, so their inclusion here adds some real weight to the leak.
Alongside that, the full description tied to the drops reads:
“Phoenix and Blade ignite the action in Marvel Rivals Season 3: The Abyss Awaken! Get ready for all-new team-ups, stunning Venomized costumes, and sizzling summer events that will turn up the heat. Don’t miss out—tune in to Marvel Rivals on Twitch for exclusive drops and dive into this epic new chapter!“
So, in short: we’ve got Jean Grey / Phoenix, Blade, Venom-themed skins, and a possible summer event on the way. That lines up nicely with earlier datamines, which pointed to Phoenix and Blade as upcoming playable heroes, and also hinted at swimsuit-style cosmetics.
Marvel Rivals Phoenix Abilities
While NetEase hasn’t officially revealed Phoenix just yet, leaked info gives us a pretty solid picture of how she might play in Marvel Rivals. She’s said to be a Duelist class hero, and she’ll reportedly have two forms, shifting between Human and Phoenix modes during combat.
Check out the rumored Phoenix abilities in Marvel Rivals below.
- Psychic Explosion: Possibly an area-of-effect blast to keep enemies at bay (Human Form)
- Telekinetic Transfer: A dash or teleport that lets her reposition quickly (Human Form)
- Shattered Star Impact: A heavy-hitting, focused attack, possibly a combo finisher (Human Form)
- Phoenix Ray: A likely ranged beam or energy blast (Phoenix Form)
- Phoenix Wings (Flying): Rumored to give her flight capabilities for a limited time (Phoenix Form)
- Phoenix Punishment: An Ultimate ability, possibly delivering high burst damage (Phoenix Form)
There’s also talk of a “mute” effect in Phoenix form that could temporarily disable enemy abilities
Marvel Rivals Blade Abilities
Blade is also expected to be a Duelist, equipped with a dual-weapon kit that lets him switch between melee and ranged attacks. (thanks, RivalsInfo)
Check out the rumored Blade abilities in Marvel Rivals below.
- Blade Chopper (Primary Fire 1): Use Dracula’s Sword to slash in front of you, inflicting damage to the enemy you hit.
- Hunting Gun (Primary Fire 2): Use a hunting shotgun to fire a long-range explosive fragmentation round that delivers a large amount of shrapnel at the point of detonation.
- Step and Chop (Shift): Sprint forward, if wielding a gun, shoot an enemy and apply to reduce healing; if wielding a sword, slash an enemy and apply to reduce movement speed.
- Blood Liberation (E): Activate vampiric bloodline, all blood becomes Dracula’s blood, gain stronger senses, can’t be healed at this time, but can restore Dracula’s blood by inflicting damage.
- Damage Block (RMB): Use Dracula’s Sword to set up a sword stance that reduces damage from in front of you.
- Ultimate (Q): After building up your strength for a short period of time, you quickly unsheathe your sword and charge forward, while releasing a powerful Chop and leaving Dracula’s Sword frantically chopping the area behind you.
Marvel Rivals Season 3 Release Date Leak
The leaked Twitch Drops schedule points to a possible release date for Marvel Rivals Season 3. According to the listing, the next round of Twitch Drops is set to run from July 11 to August 8, 2025. That start date lines up almost perfectly with when the current Season 2 Battle Pass is expected to wrap up, making it a likely candidate for the Season 3 launch.
While there’s still no official confirmation from NetEase, the timing makes sense, and the leaked details about new heroes and skins match previous datamines shared earlier this month. It’s not guaranteed, but all signs are pointing to July 11, 2025 as the potential start of Season 3.
Of course, none of this has been officially confirmed. So, we suggest taking everything with a grain of salt.
