A new Pokémon leak claims to show Game Freak’s development budgets for current and future titles, including Gen 10 and beyond.
A major Pokémon leak has been making the rounds online earlier today, reportedly showing internal figures for Game Freak’s current and upcoming projects. The information comes from Centro Leaks, a well-known Pokémon news and leak account, and it includes what seem to be early development notes and budget outlines for several games still in the works.
According to the leaked data, each new project’s scale keeps growing, suggesting that Game Freak is putting more time and resources into its upcoming titles. The supposed budget for Pokémon Legends: Z-A is already higher than anything from the Scarlet and Violet, while Pokémon Wind and Waves, rumored to be the next mainline generation, is said to push things even further.
Here’s what the leak lists for each project:
- Pokémon Scarlet and Violet DLC: ¥500,000,000 (around $3.2 million USD)
- Pokémon Legends: Z-A: ¥2,000,000,000 (around $13.1 million USD)
- Pokémon Winds and Waves (Gen 10): ¥3,000,000,000 (around $19.6 million USD)
The same batch of leaked documents points back to earlier Gen 10 leaks that mentioned Pokémon Winds and Pokémon Waves, supposedly set in a Southeast Asian-inspired region with a weather-based mechanic. The new documents line up with that idea, listing the project under the codename “Gaia” and marking it as Game Freak’s current focus.
Even more interesting is what’s said about Gen 11. The slides reportedly show internal plans labeled “Project 2030.” This strongly suggests that Game Freak has already begun early prototyping for the next generation, which could arrive around, you guessed it, 2030.
Of course, none of this has been confirmed by The Pokémon Company or Nintendo, and leaks like this can always turn out to be wrong or outdated. So, as always, take everything with a grain of salt until something official comes out.
