NetEase Games finally addresses fan speculation about a potential PC client for Destiny: Rising, following the mobile game’s big announcement.
On Monday, October 14, 2024, NetEase Games officially announced Destiny: Rising, a new mobile game based on Bungie’s beloved Destiny universe. Developed and published by the Chinese gaming giant, Destiny: Rising quickly grabbed the attention of both Destiny fans and mobile gamers alike.
With the first Closed Alpha Test just around the corner, excitement is building—but so are the questions. One of the hottest topics? Whether the game will eventually be playable on PC.
Following the success of mobile games like Diablo Immortal—also developed by NetEase Games—that offer PC clients, fans have been wondering if Destiny: Rising will follow suit.
Will Destiny: Rising Have PC Support?
Two days after the initial announcement, NetEase Games addressed the growing speculation about a potential PC client for Destiny: Rising on the game’s official Discord server. While the developer didn’t outright confirm a dedicated PC client, the response hinted that the game getting PC support is definitely a possibility, depending heavily on player feedback and demand.
When asked if players can expect a PC client for the game, the official support account “Destiny: Rising Helper” replied: “Optimization for various mobile devices is still ongoing. We recommend that you prioritize using devices that meet the required specifications for testing. In future stages, we will suggest to the developers to enhance support for [PC] emulators based on player feedback.”
While NetEase didn’t confirm a dedicated PC client, its openness to emulator support offers hope for players who prefer gaming on PC.
Additionally, the developer has also teased that Osiris, one of Destiny’s most iconic characters, could be a playable hero in Destiny: Rising. When a fan asked if Osiris would be part of the roster, the official support account replied with a cryptic two-eyes emoji, fueling further speculation.
The game is set to receive its first Closed Alpha test next month, on November 1, 2024. It’s worth noting, however, that this Alpha will only be available for players in the U.S. and Canada. Here’s everything you need to know about it.
