A major leak from Valve’s official Asia partner appears to show the new Steam Frame headset, Controller 2, and Steam Machine ahead of the big announcement.

Over the past few months, there’s been a lot of talk around what Valve’s cooking up next. Between trademark filings for something called the “Steam Frame,” datamined references to new VR controllers, and insiders teasing new hardware, it’s been clear something’s on the way.

Even just this past week, multiple leakers claimed Valve was planning to make some sort of announcement later today.

Well, turns out the surprise might’ve dropped a little early. Earlier today, Valve’s official distributor for Asia, Komodo, updated their store, now renamed to Komodo Station, and briefly listed pages for not one, but three new pieces of Valve hardware. And yes, there were images.

Steam Frame, Controller 2, and Steam Machine Leak Ahead of Reveal

The leak came straight from Komodo’s own site, which is Valve’s official Steam Deck distributor in Japan and other parts of Asia. After the storefront was rebranded to Komodo Station, users noticed a new page dedicated to the “Steam Frame“, a name previously only seen in Valve trademarks.

Valve has officially announced the new hardware. Check out the full specs for Steam Machine here.

But that’s not all. Alongside the Steam Frame page were listings for a brand-new Steam Controller 2 and something called the Steam Machine, a compact cube-shaped device that could potentially be a mini PC or console-style hardware.

The listings didn’t last long, and the URLs no longer load. But users were quick to grab screenshots of the leaked images. According to the images:

  • Steam Machine: A cube-style box with front ports (USB, etc), possibly a new console/PC hybrid from Valve.
  • Steam Frame: Looks like a full-on VR headset (think built-in display, headstrap, comfy padding). It appears to follow up on Valve’s previous Index headset.
  • Steam Controller 2: A new gamepad (or hybrid controller) featuring twin sticks, a D-pad, ABXY buttons and surface-style back pads.

As of now, we don’t have any official specs. No word on the release date, price, performance or software features. The official announcement is expected to land very soon (some sources say later today), so stay tuned for updates.

We’ll keep our eyes peeled and will bring you full specs and hands-on impressions as soon as they’re available.
