A new rumor suggests Ubisoft is working on Rainbow Six Siege 2, bringing a major engine overhaul and graphical improvements.

Rainbow Six Siege has been holding its ground since its launch in 2015, delivering one of the most intense tactical shooter experiences out there. Over the years, Ubisoft has kept things fresh with new operators, maps, and balancing updates, making sure the game stays relevant.

Most recently, Operation Collision Point dropped in December 2024 as part of Year 9 Season 4, bringing another batch of content to keep players engaged. But now, rumors are popping up about something even bigger: a possible Rainbow Six Siege 2 in development.

New Leak Claims Rainbow Six Siege 2 is Coming

An X (Twitter) user by the name of fraxiswinning has claimed that Ubisoft is planning to reveal Rainbow Six Siege 2—reportedly called Siege X—at the Six Invitational 2025 (SI 2025). The final event is scheduled for February 14-16, 2025, at the MGM Music Hall at Fenway.

According to the leak, Siege X will feature a full engine overhaul and significant graphical improvements, including upgraded textures and models. Another key detail from the leak suggests that old limited-time events from the original Siege may not make a return in the sequel. Instead, Ubisoft could be focusing entirely on fresh events for the new game.

As for Siege X’s release date, the leaker claims that the likely release window for it is Year 10 Season 2, which lands in mid-2025.

At the Siege Invitational 2024, Rainbow Six Siege creative director Alexander Karpazis dismissed the idea of a sequel, arguing that abandoning the current engine would be a mistake. He explained that Ubisoft continuously improves Siege’s tech and features, making a full sequel unnecessary.

However, if this leak is true, it seems Ubisoft may have changed its mind. Of course, as with any leak, it’s best to take this with a grain of salt. Plans can change, and nothing is official until Ubisoft confirms it.
