A reliable insider claims that real Nintendo Switch 2 consoles are already available to test accessories.
It seems like the long-awaited Nintendo Switch 2 might not be as far from reality as Nintendo fans once thought. While Nintendo has remained tight-lipped about its successor to the wildly popular Switch console, rumors and leaks have been spreading rapidly over the last few weeks.
Nintendo fans have been clamoring for an upgrade to the Switch, which first hit shelves in 2017. While the hybrid console revolutionized how we think about portable and home gaming, it’s no secret that its hardware is showing its age.
Recent reports suggested that the Switch 2 would pack hardware comparable to the PS4 Pro, including features like magnetic Joy-Con attachments, and potentially support modern AAA titles. Among the more intriguing developments was an incident involving Genki, an accessory maker known for its Nintendo-compatible products. During CES 2025, Genki displayed a Switch 2 mockup, which led to Nintendo’s legal team reportedly stepping in. Genki’s CEO initially claimed they had access to a real console available on the Black Market, a statement they later walked back.
But now, according to a trusted insider, the real Switch 2 console is already out there, and some people may even have access to it.
Leaker Claims Real Nintendo Switch 2 Units Are Out There
Adding to this swirling mix of rumors, a new post on Famiboards has raised eyebrows. The information comes from Kang, a well-known and reliable Apple leaker who has recently shared cryptic details about the Switch 2. The statement implies that the real Switch 2 hardware is indeed in circulation, though it remains hidden from the public eye.
Kang’s caution suggests that these devices are available only under strict conditions, perhaps to accessory manufacturers or trusted industry insiders. The Weibo post reads: “These past few days, there have been real [Nintendo Switch 2] devices available to test accessories, but I don’t dare to try.”
This would align with Genki’s earlier claims before its CEO retracted the statement. If Genki’s CEO truly had access to a Switch 2 console, as they initially claimed, it would make sense that Nintendo’s legal team acted swiftly at CES 2025.
Apart from that, a new rumor has surfaced today suggesting that the Switch 2 could be priced at approximately $400, with launch titles rumored to include 25 games. A limited edition bundle is also reportedly in the works, featuring a title that many speculate could be a new Mario Kart game.
While early reports suggested hardware as powerful as the PS4 Pro, more recent comments have cast doubt on whether the console will meet those expectations. Nevertheless, the anticipation remains high, as fans are waiting for official word from Nintendo.
