An analyst claims Haven’s Fairgame$ has been canceled, but new job listings and studio messaging suggest the PS5 and PC live-service heist game is still in development.
Industry analyst Michael Pachter says Sony has canceled Fairgame$, the live-service heist shooter from PlayStation’s Haven studio. He made the claim on the latest Pachter Factor podcast while criticizing Sony’s broader live-service push. There’s no official confirmation from Sony or Haven.
“[Sony] turned all their console developers into live-service developers, which resulted in Concord being shut down, the studio being shut down, which resulted in Jade Raymond being let go and her game cancelled,” he said. “They are bad managers. They don’t know what they’re doing.”
What is official: PlayStation announced in May that Haven founder Jade Raymond had departed, and that the studio would continue under new co-studio heads Marie-Eve Danis and Pierre-François Sapinski. Reporting at the time pointed to schedule pressure, not a shutdown.
Haven is Actively Hiring for AAA Live Service Game
Right now, Haven’s own careers page lists six open roles, with three posted just this week. Multiple postings name Fairgame$ directly and describe it as “in development for PlayStation and PC,” including a UI Technical Artist and Senior UX Designer. A Finance Lead ad even notes the role will help “deliver a profitable AAA game,” with preference for live-service experience. All of this strongly suggests active production rather than a cancellation.
At the time of publishing, Sony and Haven have not officially commented on this report. As with any rumor, we suggest taking everything with a grain of salt until officially confirmed.
It’s also worth remembering the wider context for PlayStation’s live-service plans. Concord launched in August 2024, went offline weeks later, and the developer Firewalk was ultimately closed that October. The Last of Us Online was canceled in December 2023 after Naughty Dog decided it would pull resources away from single-player projects.
And Bungie’s Marathon was pushed off its September 2025 release date with no new date announced yet. Those setbacks fuel speculation around every multiplayer project Sony has in the works, including Fairgame$.
