Another listing just went up for PlayStation 5 pre-order that suggests the final price to be $699 – which is probably a placeholder price by the looks of it. If you’ve been following the PS5 news lately, you might’ve seen the listings that also went live for a couple of minutes on Amazon UK until they took them down.
As spotted by Wario64 on Twitter, Play-Asia was taking pre-orders for the PlayStation 5 console with a price tag of $699. But, if we check the listing now, Play-Asia has removed that price tag from the list. So, it’s pretty much confirmed that this was a placeholder price.

The pre-order price on those listings was £599 which is around $764 in the United States. The good news is, an Amazon UK spokesman confirmed to IGN shortly after that this price is indeed false and was there as a placeholder until we get the official one from Sony.
