Blizzard revealed the next installment to the Overwatch franchise back in 2019 during their BlizzCon 2019 event. Prior to the official reveal, there were a lot of leaks and rumors regarding this announcement. Overwatch 2 will feature a new set of heroes in the game with newer character models and upgraded graphics.
Since the reveal event, fans have been asking questions about the release date of this title. Recently, PlayStation Brazil tweeted which seemingly leaked the release date of Overwatch 2. The tweet went live on January 6, 2020, which got deleted shortly after it went live.
Overwatch 2 Release Date Leaked
According to the tweet made by PlayStation Brazil, Overwatch 2 will be launching on PlayStation 4 sometime in 2020. Now, we do have to wait and see if this is legit or not. So, for now, we recommend you take this leak with a grain of salt. Game Director Jeff Kaplan did comment on the release date saying the game is still in early development. So, it’s highly unlikely that we see the release of this title this year.
Overwatch was released on May 24, 2016, on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC, and October 15, 2019, on Nintendo Switch.
