Destiny 2 Sundered Doctrine Dungeon Race and Contest Mode Details

Similar to the Vesper’s Host dungeon in Destiny 2, Sundered Doctrine will also feature a full-fledged dungeon race. And so, for the first 48 hours after launch, the dungeon will feature Contest Mode, starting on Friday, February 7 at 9 AM PT, and ending on Sunday, February 9, at 9 AM PT.

During this window, enemies are tougher, making encounters more intense and requiring precise strategy and communication. Resurrection Tokens will limit the number of revives available during encounters and enrage mechanics will restrict the amount of time or phases players have to complete the encounter.

Keep in mind that all fireteam members must own The Final Shape Dungeon Key and acquire The Drowning Labyrinth quest before entering the dungeon. Bungie has confirmed that completing the dungeon during Contest Mode will unlock a new exclusive emblem as well as a guaranteed drop of the new dungeon Exotic weapon.

Players can also unlock the new “Trigonic Amber” by watching the DungeonZone hosted by Destiny 2 content creators evanf1997 and cbgray. This emblem will be available via Twitch Drops.

Destiny 2 Sundered Doctrine Contest Mode Power Level

For Sundered Doctrine, you’ll need to hit a power level of 1995 to meet the cap for Contest Mode. This means any power you earn above 1995 won’t give you an advantage during this period. Make sure you’ve got your best gear ready and optimized for your fireteam’s strategy.
