Destiny 2’s newest dungeon, Sundered Doctrine, just dropped, and it has brought a bunch of new loot for players to unlock. Set inside Rhulk’s Pyramid Ship in Savathûn’s Throne World, this dungeon brings new mechanics, new weapons, armor, and a really unique exotic weapon called “Finality’s Auger.”
But that’s not all. Like every dungeon, Sundered Doctrine has hidden secrets waiting to be found, including secret chests that offer extra loot. If you’re looking to grab some bonus rewards, here’s exactly where to find them.
Destiny 2 Sundered Doctrine Hidden Chest Locations
There are two secret chests hidden in the Sundered Doctrine dungeon. These chests don’t drop pinnacle rewards, but they do give extra rolls of dungeon weapons and armor. You can loot each once per week per character, so if you’re running all three characters, you can grab them multiple times.
Here’s a step-by-step guide on where to find them.
Secret Chest #1: The Maze
After completing the first encounter, you’ll enter a large maze-like area that can be easy to get lost in. The first secret chest is locked behind a puzzle that requires you to destroy three Darkness Cruxes scattered throughout the maze.
Here’s how to get it:
- Darkness Crux 1: From the entrance, take the first left, then another left. Drop down the stairs, and you’ll find the first Darkness Crux on your left.
- Darkness Crux 2: Jump back up the stairs and continue straight to the end. Look to your right, and the second Darkness Crux will be there.
- Darkness Crux 3: Move forward, drop down, crouch, and keep moving until you reach the open area. From there:
- Take a right
- Then the second left
- Then the first right
- Then the first left
- Finally, take one more left, and you’ll see the third Darkness Crux on your left.
Once all three Cruxes are destroyed, a locked door will open in the middle of the maze. Head inside, and you’ll find the first secret chest.
Secret Chest #2: Before The Final Encounter
The second secret chest is located in a room right before the final boss, where you need to align the Snake and Enter Darkness beams. From the entrance, look to your top right and you’ll see a worm sticking out of the wall.
This worm is standing upright, and the chest is hidden inside its mouth. To reach it, jump on the middle platform. From there, you’ll see a small ledge right underneath the chest. Jump on it and jump again in the Worm’s mouth. Here you’ll find the second secret chest.
You can also use Strand grapple to make things easier.
