A new report claims Call of Duty Black Ops 7 could still be coming to Nintendo Switch 2, despite no official mention during the big reveal at Xbox Games Showcase 2025.

Call of Duty Black Ops 7 is finally official. During today’s Xbox Games Showcase 2025, Microsoft and Activision pulled back the curtain on the next chapter in the Black Ops series, confirming that it’s set in 2035 and puts players back in the shoes of David Mason. The game promises a new campaign, new multiplayer maps, and the return of Zombies mode.

Right after the big reveal, Microsoft confirmed that Black Ops 7 is coming to Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and PC through Xbox PC, Battle.net, and Steam. But one major name was missing, there was no mention of the Nintendo Switch or the Switch 2.

Report Points To A Potential Call of Duty Black Ops 7 Switch 2 Release

Soon after the showcase, fans started asking if there was any chance Black Ops 7 would make its way to Nintendo’s next-gen hardware. Daniel Ahmad, a well-known industry analyst from Niko Partners, posted on X (Twitter): “Wonder what Microsoft has planned for Call of Duty on Nintendo platforms going forward.”

Shortly after. Ethan Gach from Kotaku responded to Ahmad’s post, saying he’d heard from sources that both Microsoft and Nintendo are still working on bringing Call of Duty to Nintendo hardware, and that an announcement is planned for the future. Here’s exactly what Gach posted:

“Sources tell Kotaku both Microsoft and Nintendo are still working on getting Call of Duty on the latter’s hardware and will announce something in the future.”

While there’s still nothing official, this is a big hint that Black Ops 7 (or maybe even older Call of Duty titles) might eventually end up on the original Switch and Switch 2. Still, it’s always best to treat early reports like this with a grain of salt until officially confirmed by Nintendo.

As for Black Ops 7, we already have confirmation that Milo Ventimiglia is playing David Mason, bringing a familiar face to the campaign, while Kiernan Shipka joins the cast as Emma Kagan, a new character. Michael Rooker is also back as Mike Harper, another name that fans of Black Ops 2 will recognize.

“The year is 2035 and the world is on the brink of chaos, ravaged by violent conflict and psychological warfare following the events of Black Ops 2 and Black Ops 6. Wielding cutting-edge technology, the Black Ops team led by David Mason must fight back against a manipulative enemy who weaponizes fear above all else,” the game’s official description reads.
