Just like previous games, Battlefield 6 brings back the classic class system, but this time it adds more layers. You’ll still have the familiar roles like Assault and Recon, but now each class has its own signature gadget, special traits, and even progression paths that unlock new abilities mid-match.

How Many Classes Are There in Battlefield 6?
There are four main classes in Battlefield 6:

- Recon

Assault Class
The Assault class is your aggressive frontline role. It’s built for players who like pushing objectives, breaching rooms, and staying mobile during combat.
Overview
- Class Gadget: Adrenaline Injector – Provides blast and suppression resistances which last until you get damaged.
- Weapon Proficiency: Assault Rifles – Faster switching to and from assault rifles.
- Class Trait: Enhanced Mobility – Reduced fall damage and no movement spped penalty resulting from a fall.
Specialization Paths
1. Grenadier
“You are the tip of the spear – the explosive one. Breach walls, floors and doors with your LAUNCHERS and push into interiors with your flashbang. When things really heat up, use your ADRENALINE SHOT mid fight to keep the assault going for a little longer!”
- Level 0: Grenadier: Carry more grenades.

2. Frontline
“Your mastering of multiple weapons makes you an optimal tool to decimate enemy infantry. Using your WEAPON SLING to select a second primary weapon covering more ranges of the current battlefield situation. Create new routes with your ASSAULT LADDER, enabling you and your squad to follow you where the action is.

- Stimulant MK2: Press to use an enhanced combat stimulant that can reveal enemies in addition to the usual effects. Kills prolong the duration.
Engineer Class
The Engineer class is all about keeping vehicles in the fight or taking enemy ones out.

- Class Gadget: Repair Tool – A butane blow torch that allows for the fast repair of vehicles in combat.
- Weapon Proficiency: Personal Defense Weapons – Improved hip-fire control when using personal defense weapons.

1. Combat Engineer

Placing your VEHICLE SUPPLY CRATE also allows vehicles to stay in the fight, instead of going on an ammo-run from local map SUPPLY STATIONS“
- Level 0: Mechanic Tree: Automatically spot nearby mines.
- Level 1: Overheat Resistance: Vehicle weapons and the Repair Tool take longer to overheat.
- Level 2: Vehicle Health Plus: The health of vehicles you occupy is not restricted by health brackets.
2. Anti Armor
“You are the bane of vehicles on the battlefield. Armor & air vehicles fear your LAUNCHERS and MINES. Utilize your arsenal in combination to bring down the fiercest of vehicle opponents, and if all else fail – finish the attack with your trusty REPAIR TOOL!”
- Level 0: Anti-Armor Tree: Rocket ammo increased.
- Level 1: Dogpile: Reload rocket launchers faster.
- Level 2: Anti-Repair: Vehicles you damage take longer to repair.
Class Active Ability
- Active Repair: Press to enhance the Repair Tool’s repair effectiveness.
Support Class
Support players are the backbone of the team. You’ll be supplying ammo, healing teammates, and helping hold down key areas.
Overview
- Class Gadget: Supply Crate – Crate containing ammo and healing.
- Weapon Proficiency: Light Machine Guns – Experienced with heavy gear and does not suffer sprint speed penalty with light machine guns.
- Class Trait: Faster Revive and Drag Speed – Faster at dragging downed soldiers and faster at reviving them when stationary.
Specialization Paths
1. Fire Support
“Support your team by setting up defensive positions with your SUPPLY CRATE and your DEPLOYABLE COVER. Control downrange areas with superior LMG firepower. Switch to your MORTAR to hit the enemy cover and whittle down the enemy strongholds. You will also allow team mates to GRAB AMMO from you as you rank your specialization up”
- Level 0: Fire Support: Allies can resupply themselves by interacting with you.
- Level 1: Improved Weapon Mounting: Improve the effects of mounting your weapon.
- Level 2: Indirect Fire: Improved resupply on Indirect Fire gadgets. Mortars fire faster and Airburst Launchers carry more ammo.
2. Combat Medic
“Support your team in combat by keeping them in the fight. Get up close and personal, place your SUPPLY CRATES to heal and supply your team. Use your SMOKE GRENADE and your EIDOS for safety as you go in to revive multiple teammates with your trusty DEFIBRILLATORS. You will also allow team mates to GRAB HEALTH from you as you rank your specialization up”
- Level 0: Health Pack Interact: Allies can heal themselves by interacting with you.
- Level 1: Revive Health Regen: Regenerate health while reviving teammates.
- Level 2: Perimeter Defense: Defensive gadgets recharge faster and have increased capabilities.
Class Active Ability
- Active Medic: Press to heal and resupply others as if you were a Supply Crate and revive much faster for a limited time.
Recon Class
Recon is all about spotting enemies with a Sniper rifle from a long range.
Overview
- Class Gadget: Motion Sensor – Deploys a device that detects nearby enemy movement and displays it on the minimap.
- Weapon Proficiency: Sniper Rifles – Expert Marksman who can stabilize aim by holding breath and can rechamber quicker between shots.
- Class Trait: Aim Spotting – Automatically spots enemies while aiming down the sight.
Specialization Paths
1. Sniper
“The master of long distance. Defend your flank with your TUGS and place CLAYMORE to stop enemies sneaking up on you. When repositioning, utilize your PROXIMITY GRENADE to spot enemies and keep the distance optimal for your BOLT ACTION of choice!”
- Level 0: Advanced Spot: Increased Aim Spotting effectiveness.
- Level 1: Despicable: Enemies you shoot in the chest with Bolt Action Rifles are revealed and heal slower.
- Level 2: Killshot: Enemies you headshot with Bolt Action Rifles cannot be revived.
2. Pathfinder
“Sneak behind enemy lines, create a new flank with your SQUAD BEACON – keep track of the enemy using your TUGS. Recommend equipping a silenced shorter range weapon to go with your silent THROWING KNIFE and low noise CROUCH SPRINT!”
- Level 0: Silent Movement: Move more silently and enemies you kill do not scream.
- Level 1: Pathfinder: Hidden from motion sensors except while sprinting.
