Battlefield 6 has officially broken its own launch day record with a new all-time player peak, confirmed by DICE’s lead producer.

It’s only been a few days since Battlefield 6 launched, and it’s already proving to be a massive hit. From the moment it went live on October 10, players flooded in by the hundreds of thousands. Within just 25 minutes of launch, Battlefield 6 was pushing over 521,000 concurrent players on Steam. That number eventually climbed to a huge 747,440 players that same day, a new all-time record for any EA title on the platform, beating out Apex Legends.

Add in console and EA App players, and we’re easily talking several million players worldwide in the first 48 hours. Reviews were generally strong, and despite some launch hiccups with queues and bugs, most players seemed happy with the experience.

But now, there’s more: Over the weekend, Battlefield 6 has reportedly smashed its own record.

New Battlefield 6 Peak Player Count Confirmed By DICE

Over the weekend, Battlefield 6 quietly set another new all-time high for concurrent players, according to David Sirland, the game’s lead producer at DICE. The news came straight from Sirland’s official X (formerly Twitter) account on Sunday, October 12, where he posted two updates.

In his first post, Sirland wrote:

“I think this Sunday will be good in terms of how many of you all are playing BF6! New record? I hope so!”

A few hours later, he followed up with confirmation:

“Yes indeed! I believe we just passed the previous highest peak! So happy to see this!”

At the time of writing, no exact numbers have been shared by DICE or EA. On Steam, however, the data shows a 24-hour peak of 656,814 players, with around 417,933 currently in-game. The platform still lists the original 747,440 peak from October 10 as the all-time high. That said, based on the dev’s comments, it’s clear the weekend turnout went even higher; we just don’t know by how much yet.

This latest milestone adds to Battlefield 6’s strong momentum. Analysts had already estimated over 1.8 million copies pre-sold on Steam alone, with early revenue estimates well over $100 million before launch.
