Recently, there has been a lot of chatter about the next possible installment in the Silent Hills franchise. The last proper Silent Hill game was released back in 2012 being Revelation 3D. While we did get Kojima Production’s P.T demo for PS4 which is still one of the most anticipated horror games, the title was canceled shortly after the demo went live.
According to Rely on Horror, where the original Silent Hill PS5 rumor started, it looks like Konami has confirmed that the rumors are indeed false. “We’re aware of all the rumors and reports but can confirm that they are not true. I know it’s not the answer your fans may want to hear,” Konami US PR rep told Rely on Horror. “It’s not to say we are completely closing the door on the franchise, just not in the way it is being reported.”
What does this mean for the Silent Hill franchise? Well, first thing is that there’s no new game in development for PlayStation 5. But this doesn’t mean that there won’t be any in the future. What are your thoughts on this? Let us know in the comments!
PlayStation 4 was officially released on November 15, 2013, in the United States and Canada. PlayStation 5 release date is expected in the holidays 2020.
