It’s been a while since we’ve gotten anything new regarding Sony’s next-gen console – PlayStation 5. Until now, Sony has unveiled PS5’s new controller, DualSense, along with the specification of the console. Many fans are wondering when the next PlayStation 5 event would take place and it looks like we’re getting closer and closer, according to industry insider – Jason Schreier.

In a new episode of Press Start Podcast from KOFI (around 38:00), Jason Schreier talked about the rumors circulating around about the next reveal event for Sony’s PlayStation 5. When asked about when Sony’s PlayStation 5 Event could take place, Schreier replied:

“We’re in an atmosphere right now with COVID where nothing is definitive until two days before, and I think that both Sony and Microsoft are just been changing their plans constantly. But as of right now, as far as I know, Sony is still on track to do at least one thing by early-June or by mid-June. ”

Jason also mentioned that due to COVID-19 and constant changes to plans, you should “take this all with a giant caveat.” Recently, we also heard some rumors about Sony’s next PS5 event to be on June 4.

As for the Xbox Series X, Microsoft revealed some of their third-party titles coming to Series X later this year during yesterday’s Inside Xbox stream. We got the first-ever gameplay trailer for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, which didn’t show much gameplay as fans were expecting. What are your thoughts on this? Let us know in the comments!

PlayStation 4 was officially released on November 15, 2013, in the United States and Canada. PlayStation 5 release date is expected in the holidays 2020.
