Gameplay footage from Battlefield 6’s playtest has leaked online, revealing early gameplay.

For months, fans have been waiting for any real glimpse of the next Battlefield game. EA has been pretty tight-lipped about it, only confirming that multiple studios are working together to bring it to life. With Battlefield 2042 struggling at launch, there’s a lot riding on this next entry, and EA knows it. That’s why it announced Battlefield Labs, a new playtesting program aimed at getting player feedback early.

The idea behind Battlefield Labs is simple: let a small group of players test early versions of the game so developers can fine-tune things before release. It’s a smart move, especially since Battlefield 6 will need to win over longtime fans.

While there’s no way to know how final this build is, it’s clear that EA is trying to refine the Battlefield experience. From what’s been shown, the gameplay feels like a mix of Battlefield 4 and Battlefield V, with a more grounded and tactical approach rather than the chaotic feel of 2042.

That alone is a good sign for fans who have been hoping for a return to form. Aside from the leaks, we already know that multiple EA studios are working together on this one. DICE is leading the project, with Motive handling the single-player, while Criterion and Ripple Effect are pitching in on multiplayer and additional content.

With this level of collaboration, EA is clearly putting a lot of effort into making sure Battlefield 6 doesn’t repeat the mistakes of its predecessor.

Battlefield 6: What We Know About the Setting and Gameplay Direction

According to leaks and insider reports, Battlefield 6 is set in a modern-day conflict, featuring locations such as the United States and Gibraltar. This marks a departure from the futuristic setting of Battlefield 2042 and the historical themes of Battlefield V.

Gameplay-wise, the developers have reportedly removed 128-player matches and the controversial Specialist system. Instead, the game will bring back the traditional class system, a move that many fans have been requesting since Battlefield 2042’s release.

Will Battlefield 6 Have a Battle Royale Mode?

There is ongoing speculation that EA might introduce a battle royale mode, given the popularity of the genre and EA’s success with Apex Legends. While nothing has been officially confirmed, the involvement of Ripple Effect suggests the possibility of a new large-scale mode being developed alongside the core multiplayer experience.
