Bungie has revealed some interesting details about the new destination in The Final Shape called the Pale Heart of the Traveler.
Destiny 2’s highly anticipated expansion, The Final Shape, is less than two weeks away. This upcoming expansion will conclude Destiny’s Light and Darkness saga that’s been running for nearly a decade.

The Final Shape will also feature Bungie’s first-ever “linear” destination called the Pale Heart. In the latest issue of PC Gamer magazine, Bungie’s project lead, Catarina Macedo, talked about the conceptualization of the Pale Heart, and how players are going to see the “pure Traveler and what that looks like.”
“One of the big ideas for the Pale Heart is that, because you’re going inside of a god, and no one has ever gone inside this particular god, how are we going to represent that?” Macedo explained.
The Pale Heart is not merely a representation of the Traveler itself but is also influenced by the experiences and memories of the Guardian and the Vanguard.
“There’s going to be moments where we’re going to see the pure Traveler and what that looks like. But this is a place where it is shaped by the players and the Guardians’ memories, and the Vanguard as well.
“We’re really excited for players to both feel the familiarity of these places and these characters, and feel that The Witness is present and twisting things in a way that’s really interesting.”
As players venture deeper into the Pale Heart, they will encounter increasing signs of corruption by The Witness, the main antagonist in the expansion’s narrative. “As you get closer to the big spire of The Witness, then you see more of its influence,” said Macedo.
“From an environment and a storytelling perspective, we wanted to reinforce that you’re not supposed to like what The Witness is doing here. This is the very visual, visceral way of displaying that.”
The new campaign in The Final Shape “was designed to honor the time that players have spent in Destiny up to this point,” according to Macedo.
With the release of the new ViDoc earlier today, Bungie gave fans their first listen to Keith David’s portrayal of Commander Zavala, who was brought in as the new voice of Commander Zavala after the tragic passing of Lance Reddick last year.
Apart from that, Bungie has revealed new reworks and changes coming to a total of nineteen exotic armor pieces in The Final Shape. If you wish to learn more about it, make sure to check out our article here.
